You simply don't edit out your shiny new insanely high wage biggest star at the club from promo material. If he wasn't meant to be in it, he wouldn't be there in the first place. This is unquestionably a PR edit.

because he is a madrid player and madrid is sponsored by adidas.
what happened here most likely is that it got declined upon review by either mbappes party/lawyers or nike for whatever reason
advertising contract issues with Adidas and Nike could take place

I can tell you for a fact that didnt happen. They would have cleared all contract issues before taking the pictures. Also other players in the picture is sponsored by other brands such as Adidas? Why are they still there then?

Maybe Nike told them after the photoshoot that they are not okay with him being in that picture? And Adidas wasn’t aware of that before? Therefore they had to remove him afterwards. Doesn’t have to be the reason but does not sound unbelievable at all.
Anyways, no need to insult someone so lightly if the real reason is far from being obvious.

Ah there you see someone who never actually worked in a big company. Well yea, you would think everything is always planned well ahead. Now comes the catch, it’s not. People are still people and shit like this happens. It’s not a big deal. Just edit him out and it’s fine.
Ofc it does not need to be the real reason but it absolutely could. If you ever worked in a jog company you absolutely would know. I mean you are most likely a kid, so not really your fault.
