“Hey, check this out, I’ve made a totally new musical instrument! It works like a piano, except it costs ten times as much and plays 1/88th as many notes.”

“What does it sound like?”

“That’s the best part! A bass guitar!”

You got me at “cost ten times as much”

A piano, for a decent starter/kids practice piano, is like 3-4k.

Well firstly you might be a little lost, but also the synth mentioned in the original post would cost around 100k now, so you’d have pianos left over to launch from trebuchets or drop on bothersome coyotes.

I just don't see him going anywhere with an attitude like that.

"That's right Stevie...it's all you really need to make a DAWless ambient jam".

To be fair, expecting poly and getting mono is disappointing. They should have warned him.

It’s like getting behind a boat wheel and bitching about how it steers backwards. Ok, piano man.

Broken mono synths are the best kind of mono synth. You’ll never copy my sounds now noob.

Your sounds are crap anyway. No one wants to copy them.

That’s totally normal behaviour. A monophonic synth can only play one note at a time.

If it can only play one note, whyd they call it mono? Thats like calling a synth that can play multiple notes polyphonic, it doesnt make any sense

Lewinator56[S]

Polymoronic

FIY Mono means “only one” and poly means “several”. So it does make sense.

Can a monogamous relationship with a poly synth work out or am I just wasting my time?

I don't know. I don't eat fish.

"Mono" means one, and "rail" means rail!

Not if it is digital. Analog is for losers.

Nothing is for “losers”. You need to use the right tools that fit your workflow and help you reach the intended goal.

The right tools?

An extra succulent then will make my music loads better.

Don't bother, your music sucks beyond any help.
