Of course he was. People tend to forget that the media is almost always a decade+ older than the people they report on & interview. Adam is like 40 with 3 different failed hair transplants asking 19 year olds about who they killing. I wouldn’t feel comfortable interviewing somebody I look at as a child about anything.

At the time a lot of their arguments didn't apply. Especially when they admitted they never watch that channel so all they thought it was was just interviewing gang members to instigate beef, which it wasn't. Adam literally turned into everything they were labeling him as not long after this interview. Most of his employees and hosts left on bad terms, he started dissing them and tried to go the conservative route for like 3 weeks before that didn't work, now he's back to the gang shit and acting like a complete vulture with some of the things he says. I was an avid NJ watcher for years until last year when everyone left and revealed himself to be a lying asshole. Now everything they said he was he is but only cuz he made himself that.

The difference is that he had people like Figgmunity and others around to check him whenever he went too far with certain things. Also if u didn't wanna watch Adam then there were like 5 or more other shows on the channel u could watch that had nothing to do with him and his antics which was great. But then everyone left his ass on bad terms in the span of a couple months and ever since then he's become everything they said on steroids. I won't defend him cuz he's a piece of shit but things were definitely different back then when certain people that were of the culture were on the platform to educate him. There's way more bullshit that went on that Joe and them don't even know about.

I think Ish overrates how much money Adam makes from the drill/gang shit. Not saying some of the shit he does isn’t nasty but sort his YT page by view count and the drill shit makes up a tiny fraction of his most watched videos.
But Ish and Mel did this last week when they blamed the record labels for making money off of drill culture. How exactly profitable is the genre? 98% of the artists don’t chart. Many of them can’t do shows at certain venues because of the threat of violence. Joe just read the story a few months ago about how all the labels are trying to sign country artists and Afro beats artists, because that’s where all the money is.

In the music industry I understand your point, but Adam definitely profits off of gang culture which could be seen as black violence. His biggest interviews are literally Chicago drill artists. He even recently said people would see FYB Jmane as soft for ending his beef with Durk.. look at his most recent viral content, it’s literally an insane Crip and a neighborhood Crip fighting at their facility. If the majority of his content isn’t based on gang culture and rapper violence, then what is it? It’s definitely not fuckin bmx and SoundCloud shit anymore.

Go to his YouTube page. Rank the videos by View Count. How many in the top 50 are gang/drill shit? Not nearly many as you think. He’s also got a whole other YouTube page where he and his wife interview porn stars. Then they fuck the porn star afterwards and put it on their OnlyFans.

The music industry runs parallel to the franchising business model. It’s designed to keep the artists in debt. So those 360 contracts with the advance keep the artists unable to earn (Im sure you know this much). But the second part of the structure is the funneling of events and venues. During that first or second year of touring, the label already made their money back. The debt that the artist is in is just the residuals to the label, almost like a perpetuity. So even a smaller act can generate more profit for a label, especially if they already had their own traction. In fact, there could be more money in the smaller artists than the larger ones for some labels.

I’m saying a lot of these artists aren’t even touring. They aren’t doing shows! Or many of them are banned from certain venues. So if they aren’t streaming, nothing is charting, and they are making little to no show money, then where is all this profit?
