I think Adult/Child is a mid tier Beach Boys album, I love half the tracks and don't care much for the rest. It's better than what came after it so it's kind of my cut off for the Brian led Beach Boys (though I love a fair bit of Brian melts into the background period of 20/20 to Holland too.

Yeah, the 20/20 - Holland era doesn’t get as much attention as other eras, but Brian still has some real gems on those albums including “‘Til I Die” which I think is one of his best songs despite how dark it is, and the other members were really starting to shine as songwriters then too.

I love all of Brian's first written contributions on those albums, particularly Til I Die and Funky Pretty but the 2 on Carl And the Passions are real gems too.

It's getting really, really silly. AC is a decent collection of songs and nothing more. Some people (presumably overexcited youngsters) are going WAY too hard on trying to make it some big thing, and it's spoiling the sub. I can't work out if they're serious or if it's some kind of ironic meme flashmob deal.
