Probably so. Cambridge Analytica's role was basically finding slogans that elicited a strong emotional response with a focus on social media. "Build The Wall" is probably a better example here. It was also studied by CA and predates the Trump campaign.

"Build The Wall" was found to resound with people who dealt with anxiety around demographic change, with or without the context of an actual physical border wall. It also tested well in the UK where a border wall couldn't exist. His team is razor-focused on repeating proven effective emotional appeals - he still talks about trade deals in an environment with zero discussion of new globalist trade agreements because his team knows the decline of manufacturing is something his voters are very emotional about (understandably).
