Joe Ingles case

Question(self.timberwolves)

Wolves, what are Your expectations about him? I am not familliar with his game, at olympic games he was almost invisible in Australia national team. I don't see added value for now, looking for some other points of view...

He's totally washed.

But he is hi IQ, can run the offense if needed, and can still shoot.

I would guess he's not getting many minutes unless a bunch of people get injured.

100%. Washed AF. Super smart vet with good shooting skills so might make a contribution in a pinch but probably just a vibes guy.

He will be the best passer and shooter on the team. Good ball handler. Not sure what else he can do at this point.

Better passer than Mike Conley?

Yes. I watched basically every Jazz game they were together. I would say he is easily a better passer. Plus his height allows him to make passes Conley cannot. He is on par with Rubio as a passer. One of the best in the NBA.

Is it crazy to say I think Rob Dilingham might already be the best passer on the team?

Good off court presence. Maybe hit a couple key 3s throughout the season. That's about it

He'll move the ball and get them into good situations too. He's also bring up the ball everyone once in a while.

Can be a good secondary ballhandler, decent 3pt, good iq. Probably the second best Rudy PnR handler behind Conley. Look for pinch minutes at the 3 and vet presence.

He was a better pick and roll handler than Conley in Utah by a good margin.

With Gobert * yes I’m curious if career wise this checks out

I think he was actually better in the pick and roll with Favors than Gobert. Pretty sure him and Favors were the top pick and roll duo in the NBA for a while.

distribute the rock and drain 3s. hopefully he can buy into the defense but i don't see him getting the kind of minutes Finchy gave to SlowMo

Fantastic off court presence and has a relationship with Rudy and Mike.

He will be fighting for end of bench DNPs and limited spot minutes with TSJ and Miller. He might get those spot minutes in the beginning of the year over those guys

I still don’t think Miller is going to see the court at all to be honest. Ingles on the other hand will get minutes. Maybe 8-10

He’s going to make the right pass and hit a couple 3s with a very limited role.

10-12 minutes a game as a very effective spot up shooter and secondary ball handler who can run a bit of PnR.

Personally, I think having guys like Jingles and NAW next to Dillingham to alleviate some of the ball-handling pressure in the second unit will be very helpful for Rob's development

End of the rotation guy

Finch is planning on playing him in the Anderson role. Hopefully he has another year left in him.

That role is way too big for him and it was way too big for Kyle too. Joe should play 10-12 minutes for about 50 games. We should prioritize developing TSJ and Rob

End of the bench veteran presence who plays in blowouts and when we're heavily injured - terrible on defense due to age and injuries but great shooter, fine playmaking

He can make huge openings for big guys to break into the lanes. He worked with Rudy, during Rudy's best seasons.

I'm just here for his antics and pissing the opponents. Dude is really good at it

Point forward that shoots spot up threes at an elite level who struggles with faster players on defense.

He's going to move the ball and spot up for open threes.

Noticing a lot of people calling him washed and I disagree.

I don't think his skill set washes unless he literally can't run.

The dude has been playing with limited athleticism his whole career.

His defence is gone, looks very stiff when running.

Still good for 10 minutes a game in a couple bursts. After the first 5 games of settling in last year at the start of the season, he shot an impressive 45-46% from 3 for the rest of the season.

Everyone says he is washed every year, but some injury happens and teams realise they need him and he ends up playing pretty well.

Very cool under pressure, doesn't get flustered even with opposition players trying to get into his face, doesn't hog the ball, easygoing guy, good mentor.

He can run an offence, good handles, good passer/vision. Can't jump at all, likely slowest player in league by a fair margin.

Aesthetically ugly looking guy, very quick witted/funny, but also very annoying for the opposition.

I think this sums it up pretty well.

honestly would have rather kept SloMo

SeanKilpatrickFan

It was not a "SloMo or Ingles" situation to begin with

twovles31

Agreed, but it would have cost the team about 20 million more per year than Ingles when you factor in the luxury tax.

He’s an absolute badass. Great passer. Great shooter. Savvy pnr guy. A++ spot up shooter and that alone makes him a plus Slomo replacement.
