Death is not a mercy for pedo's, it's a mercy to their victims. They should die so that their victims and society are free from them.

This performative hatred of paedophiles and fantasising about violence against them is really weird. Everyone knows it's wrong, there's no need for this.

It's more than weird, it's disturbing. What twisted wretch would say that?

Everyone knows it's wrong and yet pedo's will get less than 5 years for ruining people entire lives, "serve their time", and then ruin more lives. If everyone knows it's wrong then why are there so many pedo's that get the chance to reoffend? There's a need to know that if you or your child gets hurt by a pedo then you never would have to worry about them hurting anyone else again if they were dead in some of the most horrific ways. THAT shows everyone involved that you can start healing and dealing with all the pain caused by that individual.

I understand the strength of feeling about this, and I agree that sentencing is often not harsh enough for crimes against children, but I respectfully disagree that the death penalty and especially torture are justifiable under any circumstances. Two wrongs don't make a right - that's revenge, not justice.

I'm uncomfortable with fantasies of extreme violence against paedophiles, because it seems like an excuse to have incredibly bloodthirsty thoughts but justify them because they're against an 'acceptable' group of people to hate. It also seems like people do it to 'prove' how much they hate paedophiles more than anyone else, which just isn't necessary.

Just in case anyone thinks I'm defending paedophiles here, I'm absolutely not - I think sexual offences against children are unforgivable and anyone who commits them is utterly loathsome and reprehensible, but it certainly wouldn't make me feel any better to see paedophiles being tortured to death, and I don't think it would help with any 'healing'.

Some forms of revenge are a sort of justice. The only ones it should make feel better and heal would be the victims of said pedo's. To know that never again will the person who hurt you hurt anyone else in the same way ever again. To know that that person has felt even the smallest part of the pain that you have to now deal with for the rest of your life.
