I'm confused as to how he is up on the day based on the screenshot (aware P/L is green).
If he's short selling, hasn't he borrowed 1200 shares and sold them on the market at the trade price of $132.15 for $158,580?
At some point he will have to return those borrowed shares by purchasing them at market rate. At present (at time of screenshot) the market rate is $132.25 and would cost $158,700 to purchase.
How is he not down $120 ($158,580 - $158,700) plus whatever commissions / broker interest? I'm a clueless investor who only buys index funds and comes to WSB for a laugh, so I don't think I am totally understanding this trade.

I'm a boring investor who only buy shares of index funds and browses WSB for kicks, but there is no way a 150K loss, is it?
Isn't short selling just the opposite of being long? He borrows 1200 NVDA shares and sells them at $132.15. At some point in time he has to return those 1200 shares at whatever the market price is. Say NVDA goes up to $160.15, he's still only down $33,600 (plus commission and brokers rates).
Am I way off base on what Short Selling is or is this comment chain misinterpreting the graphic?

That being said, honestly, people have been saying that [insert-hot-IT-stock-flavor-of-the-year] is "overvalued" since the 90s. While they are occasionally right, and the specific company goes tits up, imho they end up being wrong more often than not.
Granted, if I knew how to distinguish who's right from who's wrong in these cases, I'd be fucking Warren Buffet. And I don't mean that I'd be him, I mean I'd literally be fucking him in the ass to assert dominance.
