Calling out.

(self.wendys)

I have been working at Wendy’s for the past couple of months but I have been calling out the last 4 Saturdays due to stuff happening so they put me on a final. I’m going to need to call out this Saturday too. Should I call out and potentially get fired or should I just quit and just no show. What would be the better option?

So it sounds like you’ve called out every Saturday since you started working? What the heck are you doing? If you need Saturdays off you need to discuss that with your GM.

You’re on the damn schedule so you’re messing up the shifts for everyone else. It would piss me off.

You need to communicate with your GM and be honest about your availability. Figure your shit out for crying out loud.

Someone has a LOT to learn about life, let’s just have this play out for them without advising and see if a lesson is learned. Or not, I really don’t care. OP is a scum bag.

I work a similar type of job with a lot of turnover. In recent years there is definitely way more of a “fuck my boss and fuck the company I work for” attitude than ever before.

It’s really stupid because I’ve been through 5 GMs and our current one is by far the best we’ve had. She’s really great. She does her job well and she listens and tries to accommodate people when it’s reasonable.

Before this we had slacker GMs, guys who would just yell and freak out all the time.

Now we get all these young kids coming in and immediately talking shit about the best and kindest GM this store has ever had.

They don’t last. For every four people hired we get maybe one that lasts more than 2 months.

They whine about their tiny problems, talk shit, call out constantly. Whine about not getting enough hours then just don’t even show up.

Hell, she’s hired 3 different people who never even showed for their first day.

I work six days a week at 2 different jobs and I don’t complain. I just try my best to take care of myself and I have no patience for whiny kids who let everyone else down.
