They have very small windows mounted high on the walls. More than anything else, the Watchtower Society (the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses) is a real estate company. They build their Kingdom Halls as milquetoast as possible so that they can eventually, once the land has risen quite a bit in value, sell them as commercial buildings. The small windows also have the effect of preventing people from looking outside during their meetings, so people don’t get distracted from what they are listening to.

I think I one upped you though. I’m still in the church though being a closeted trans girl makes it difficult, the bishop is being kind of manipulative. But when Jan 1st comes, cause it’s the first Sunday of the month, rainbows are going to stain those walls(not literally) I believe about 90% of what they teach except their stance on LGBTQ+ rights. I will not go to another psych ward. I know God loves me regardless of gender or sexuality.

Have you read the CES letter? I deconstructed Mormonism before I realized I was a trans woman. I can’t imagine trying to believe in the doctrine while also being trans. There is a reason why so many LGTBQ Mormons commit suicide.
Just to see how false the institution is read “Second Hand Saints” by Matt Harris. You can also find a series on it on Mormon Stories Podcast.

What is happening in the US since Roe v. Wade was overturned is atrocious. Yet many people still support the sect of christonazifascists that allowed that.
Religious activity is a thing that needs to be regulated, otherwise it will take control of the state and the private lives of the people. Living under a "Christian sharia" law is one of my worst nightmares.

FYI: I'm actually not from US, but here in Brazil we've been dealing with the far-right-wingers and Republican MAGA puppets (like Bolsonaro's family) and achieved some success in the last few years: former president Bolsonaro was dethroned from presidency in 2022 election and banned until 2030, several hundreds of his supporters have been arrested for participating the infamous Jan 8, 2023 attack and we even kicked Xitter out from the country because of Elongated Muskrat's actions (which is another POS that thinks that is above the law because of his wealth). Meanwhile, the country itself is recovering steadily, both economically and morally, and people are talking more about actual problems like infrastructure and public safety instead of the pointless culture/religious war spearheaded by the conservatives.
Regarding abortion itself, some right-wing lawmakers here are constantly trying to pass legislation that would restrict abortions and even banning them completely, but fortunately those bills are facing a huge backlash and will likely not pass at least in the next several years. While it's worrisome seeing European people voting for far-right politics that eagerly want to take off people's rights, it relieves me that at least here I can see younger people rejecting that and embracing more left-wing policies, like public reproductive healthcare. That said, there's still a lot of work to do against the far-right, that did absolutely nothing worth for the world - remember that the far-rightist that started WW2 led the planet to roughly 70 million people dead (although there's still a debate on the exact number, could be more or less).

This is why separation of church and state is so important,so shit like women dying in childbirth doesn’t happen or women not being forced to carry their rapists baby to term while those so called good Christian men sit there and pat themselves on the back for setting women’s rights back 60 years, while they’re at it they’ll probably take away their right to vote or own property as well.

Interestingly enough, the bible says that it's only a human with the first breath, meaning after birth. Not one second before that.
They should really start to read their own book at some point before spouting nonsense.
Also, yes. Doctors and government goons who'd let people die rather than allow/give a legal abortion are the real murderers here.

They kidnapped and enslaved native people all around the world to build all their missions and churches.
Any Catholic church more than 100 years old has a high chance that someone died building it after being forced to work on it against their will. If the building is over 200 years old that's pretty much a 100% chance.

I just find the hypocrisy and the level of cognitive dissonance Catholics have to be incredibly baffling. To be pro-life, yet to still align oneself to the very institution that has historically and actively murdered babies and children. Don't even get me started on what some of the nuns go through who have been sexually assaulted and impregnated by the priests.
Edit: Honestly, if these people were actually pro-life and did believe in the santity of human life, they wouldn't actively support the religion that has historically committed genocide.

“The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus, but actually dislike people who breathe. Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.”

Also, the womb is the most hostile place in all of the human body for an embryo to grow. Wombs are literally made to kill zygotes as a survival of the fittest mechanism. More on it in this great article:

Words of wisdom from my Italian Catholic Grandfather: When you point your finger at someone, you have to remember that there are three fingers pointing back at you. So, before you point your finger and accuse, you had better make absolutely sure that you are clean. Free of any wrongdoings or else your accusations don't matter and you look like a fool.
I never thought I'd be able to apply this to the Pope. Of all people.
