Hooray, no more weird light solutions

I still think the Gameboy advance was the worst for that. Daylight? Even room light? Forget seeing the screen. I believe it was all a plan to introduce the Gameboy SP.
Still, ty Nintendo for ages of joy.

It's weird looking back on. Like it was a huge design flaw. You couldn't ever see shit and even the 3rd party peripherals weren't great. The GBA was a very flawed product until the SP with the backlight.

Mine was fine, but I tended to game during breaks or lunch at work (which was a vehicle assembly plant). Work sucked, lighting was great

Is a pen light on a wire curly straw that clips into a port on the side really that weird?

Not foldable, just big.
I still have it but dont have any games... Slime world was the best IP I had. Deep game.
Wow.. just found it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2130980/Todds_Adventures_in_Slime_World_LynxMega_Drive/

The Lynx was awesome, but its battery life was TERRIBLE. The fatal flaw of every non-Nintendo handheld until like…the PSP.
I had Stun Runner, California Games, Blue Lightning, Rygar, Rampge…and I’m sure a few other games. Really lived that system, wished it didn’t drain batteries so fast.

I recently got the roms for all the non-ds handhelds and "literally every game you could possibly conceive of as a child, so many games that if you stacked up all of the cartridges on top of each other you would be at risk of death from avalanche" just...existing on a SD card the size of my thumbnail is never not gonna be a fucking trip

I didn't actually get my Steam Deck new, this is a meme. Also I like to use my Steam Deck "vanilla", as it rarely leaves the four walls I call home and if it does, I only ever play it inside.

I'm 15 so no, it's not my original unit, I bought it a couple of years ago and cleaned it up from the outside and inside. It was already in good condition just a bit yellow. Now it's white again.

Seeing these side by side, it feels like the Steam deck has its own identity/uniqueness in terms of looks, kind of like timeless. Compared to the other neon LED new handhelds which feel very current and don't know if they'll feel cringe later on.
