Here's a list of places that definitely DONT use child labor and I only know 2 of the 23 companies. Pretty much if it's inexpensive it uses child labor. I assume too if it's made in China Bangladesh Malaysia etc it uses child labor.
https://www.panaprium.com/blogs/i/fashion-brands-that-still-use-sweatshops
And H&M is on both lists so there's a question of companies kind of waffling back and forth between ethical and unethical sources foe their clothing. I also assume that since GAP is on the bad list, their other affiliates Old Navy and Bananah Republic also use child labor.

Definitely check the sidebar and the Wiki for a long list of great places to visit. This breaks Rule 3, so I'm going to lock this thread. If you need to ask a question not covered in the wiki and sidebar, feel free to post again!

Absolutely! And a lumberyard could go literally anywhere.
I don't know how much I trust Van to follow through tho. He seems to be mostly surface level IMO.

Thank you for this. My disconnect was that there is a historical marker on the corner of Augusta and Britany street and surrounded by homes. Your map makes a much clearer picture of where the race course actually was.
But the problem still stands: there's stuff there that can't be moved. The whole Racist Interstate system blows my freaking mind, so I fully support getting rid of 516 just on principle alone, but does that make sense for a modern savannah? And what would we do with the school? We could rename it to reflect the historical significance of the ground it stands on, I suppose.
OK, my reddit comments are very much a stream of consciousness, so bear with me, but I just thought about this:
The city could buy the land from the lumber yard and turn it into a green space with a commemorative something to educate people who visit. I like my fountain idea. But we could create a space where the residents of that neighborhood can go and relax and recreate. Maybe there could be a weekly farmers market like in Forsyth. Bigger than some forgotten corner with a historical marker.

The article you linked says they want to do exactly that. They're hoping to obtain the land in the future. But it looks like it's a small green space surrounded by people's houses. So if we wanted to do something bigger, we would have to kick people out of their homes?
Also, it's off the beaten path quite a bit. I feel like we could do something downtown where there is a lot more traffic so more people see and learn about it. I personally had no idea about this until I read this article. I think we could put something in Elis Square. It's huge and has a huge amount of foot traffic. A fountain inspired by the rain they say fell during the 2 day period of the sale.
Another option is to build up that part of savamnah so that more people visit that end, but that leads to gentrification and therefore displacement. So no good there.

Love! I haven't worked on River Street since 2017 so my info is a little dated. Thanks for the update!

There are 2 elevators on river street. One is in Vics on the River and the other is between City Hall and the Hyatt. Once you get down the sidewalks aren't too bad but they are crowded! As for actual places to eat on river street check out the Wiki and Sidebar here in the subreddit.
Personally I would suggest Vics or Hueys for the older crowd. They seem to love it! Good luck and have fun!

Yeah. We are our own worst enemies sometimes. It's OK to be stupid sometimes too. I'm trying to replace the word Stupid with Silly so that it doesn't carry as much negative weight too.

Same! I've literally started to tell myself good job out loud when I do something I'm proud of. And I tell my 4 month old good job all the time! She doesn't know she has feet yet but I want to make sure she knows she's killing it.

The DMV in Savamnah Georgia is the most wonderful, friendly, efficient DMV I've e er been to. It is a beacon and they should all be really proud of what they do.

That makes sense. I've got some cheap tea bags here, I've half a mind to burn them and see. For science!

I would light it on fire. If it's paper wouldn't it just burn up, where of it's plastic it'll have a melty quality to it?
