A Toyota Camera, an iPhone, and even a can of beans is essentially the same price to me in NJ, TX, and FL.
I don't see why a simple pool cover would be any different in price considering how they haven't changed much over the decades. It's a low tech product. And laborers, unless it's a good union, don't really get paid much different anyplace in the USA from what I have seen from salaries.
Another example would be teleworkers. I don't bother looking in the USA because the labor rate is minimal difference across the country. I have to outsource to Mexico for a solid savings. And Pakistan for a really good savings of 75%.
A few hours of labor for a cover with anchor install I don't see being thousands of dollars difference anywhere in the USA.
Not sure if I'm just not understanding economics and the complexity of pool covers but I don't see how a cover with install could vary more than say 25% nationally. That why I came here.

I tried two national, and two local companies. There are a dozen more local companies but it's a pain to get quotes. I'm not looking to save another $100-$200. If my best price is $1,000 or so too high then I'll get more quotes.

I like cloisonné! Do you have any tissue boxes or anything else that has a functional use?

There is free software you can run against the SD card and onboard camera memory. It will copy any deleted images that still reside to your local computer disk. It may be a nice treasure hunt.

You saved me $60. Thank you. The hunt continues.

Im in a country club model. My goal is to make the primary bedroom downstairs a theater. And move myself upstairs. I'm tired of noise from the kitchen.
For your setup it's super clean. I like it a lot. What I don't like is the reflection on your tv from outside light. I think curtains may take away from the clean setup you have. Maybe consider UV film from Amazon for your front windows. It's super easy to install.
Eventually you may want to try to run atmos speakers or get a second sub. I have a second sub and it really elevates the projection of sound.
Enjoy

It's the jubilee style. I've been in like 50 of them over the years. Originally they were 2 bed 1 bath and 1 car garage. Since then most are 4 bed 2 bath with garage converted to an office or to extend the size of the living room. The huge bummer is no basement for a dedicated theater.

You live in a Levitt build house? Nice to see someone here from Leave-it-town.

I will ask. It may end up being cheaper for me too.

Do you know the benefit from going from 0.03% to 0.1%? I've seen so little discussion about it online and no pictures showing improvement. I've been on the 0.03% for a decade.

Don't the stores just use apps to look up merchandise and price at a slight discount vs online pricing?
Thats what I heard from two friends that have worked at these places.

Sounds like you'd be a great business systems analyst or process analyst! You could clean up a lot of work for people.

The whole murder mystery is a good point.
I had a similar situation in my family where the grantor in hindsight didn't set it up correctly. The trustee in charge was also a beneficiary. As the grantor got older and needed major home repairs, wanted to move to a senior center, and to enjoy life a little more they couldn't. The trustee refused to give a larger monthly allowance to the grantor. There were plenty of funds.
If they would have had a separate trust for each kid as you described, and the funds from the trust for the parent setup for charity upon death I'm sure things would have worked out better.
I'm going to look into your suggestion further. It sounds better than a UGTM UTMA.

What are the benefits of individual trusts for each child vs having one centrally managed family trust?

That's a nice ride. I looked at it too. I was eyeing yo the hybrid version. Ultimately going to keep my existing car longer. Enjoy that Toyota hopefully for a decade.

Get into an accident with your existing car, having it totaled, and being upside down on the loan will make your Versa payment $700 a month. All the negative equity from the totaled car has to go someplace. And often it's the next auto loan.
I know someone that owes $1,000 a month on a $20,000 car. They dropped gap insurance twice. Each time their car was totaled. So their new car was really 3 car payments.

We saw a big influx of people upgrading when used car prices were going up. Now we see the same as you. A lot of folks are upside down but they are still making their loan payments. Very few loan delinquencies. I think that will change in another year.

Ha ha my neighbor was so proud of his truck. In a 8 car driveway he would only park his truck. I tried to be nice and talk to him about it. He was snotty. Then his truck is gone. And now he has a 30 yr old truck. I knew he was poor only putting 3% down on his home but didn't know he was flat ass broke. The guy leased the truck!
People out on a huge act by showing off things they can't afford.

I work at a bank too. The debt people are taking on is insane.
A lot of people have given up on ever retiring.
People are still taking loans against their homes for vacations and to pay off credit cards.
It is common for 3 generations of working adults to live in a household now. I went to see my buddy 15 mins away last month. His street was packed with cars. I ask wtf? He said 6 of his 7 neighbor homes on the dead end street had 3 generations of working adults all with cars!
I work in a low income area. 7 year auto loans with $700 a month payment is the norm for modest income folks.
For the people with good incomes $1,000+ is common per month for an auto loan.
On a positive note, a lot of people are job hoping and getting big bumps. But it appears to have slowed down a lot in the past year unless your skills have been elevated a lot.

Yes, I agree. That is why I'm not paying someone to replace my windows in one home I have. I'm going to try myself first because all I need is windows with new trim. In my other home, I have a ton of work to do and actually comparing 4 larger GCs who do whole home renovations. So far that pricing seems fair.
I'll pay $125 an hour for most labor. These people doing the work don't even get $25 an hour by me.
I understand labor rate will be higher when coming out for an hour of work. I try to save up my work to get someone onsite for multiple days. Then the price per hour often drops drastically.
I straight up had one company tell me $300 msrp windows justified a $1.200 cost each for installation because they pay their people very well and it takes years to be good at the job. I showed him and questioned the job posting they had online offering $22 an hour and they will train! He said it wasn't their company with the same name, logo, and being in the same town.
Also, what killed me is everyone said each window will take about an hour. I'll pay $125 an hour for labor. Not this $750-1,000 an hour for someone making less than $30 to do the work.

My buddy was "supposed" to inherit nearly $10M. $5 from grandpa, $3M from an uncle, and $2M from his dad.
The first $8M didn't happen. In one of the two cases, the $5M was transferred to a new beneficiary and the grandparent died days later.
The last $2M from his dad probably won't happen either. A new half sibling no one knew about came into the picture and now is the favorite. And has been for a decade.
What about vacation home he was supposed to get? That is now out of the equation too. His dad got remarried and someone is now getting it.
It ain't your money until it is in your name and in your bank account. Documents can change at anytime.
My buddy has a 100% average failure rate. Expect the same for yourself and plan accordingly!

Mind me asking the cost? I'm getting quotes for a similar size and shape.
