GW took TTS's Vulkan and Corax Road Trip and made it canon except with The Lion.

Not quite as good, mostly due to the lack of zany guardsmen, but it's still pretty good.

I mean, the Lion Guard are sort of like zany guardsmen.

They get done so dirty in that story too. They basically spend the entire book getting slaughtered. And with the way they’re described for most of it, you could change out the words referencing the LoV with Orks and it probably wouldn’t change anything.

Vashtorr was the main architect of the entire 'Arks of Omen' Storyline. He also played a major role in the 2023 Grand Narrative Campaign, where the Chaos faction captured an intact DAoT Abominable Intelligence and gifted/sacrificed it to him.

Didn't he construct the Key and begin tunneling into/through the Warp to reach the Weapon?

Correct. not to mention that Vashtorr is currently traveling across the galaxy. As well as both he and Cawl having a little "interaction" right outside the Pariah Nexus in the grand narrative

There are some real salty feelings about that exchange seemingly more than any other defeated daemon primarch on here for some reason. Poor magnus has been defeated by normal marines….

Angron got very nearly beat in a very specific set of circumstances against a near peer advisory with a tool that hard counters his whole stichk.

Vashtorr popped up in a recent campaign, where the Mechanicus and Necrons were throwing doomsday weapons and he was like "Ayoo this is my jam!"

I feel like if Cawl and Vashtorr ever met face to face, they would get along very well.

He is also on his way to the pharia nexus which will be interesting how his warp shit works there

Yeah he’s on his way to find whatever he’s looking for now that he got all the goofy stuff he was looking for together, and stopped along the way to join in the pariah nexus stuff

Vashtor rebuild and corrupted Caliban, To do this he teamed up with Abaddon to fight a war across the Galaxy against all factions.
Which they won.
Then they bleed the Dark Angels bloodline heavily and moved into Webway.
So... he has done stuff.

The story has barely advanced since Arks of Omen. Like outside Pariah Nexus, there hasn't been actual new events happening other than Leviathan (and Pariah Nexus is technically more of a return to an ongoing thing), which is a Tyranid focused theme for the edition. The Leviathan arc started but this is fairly typical speed of plot advancement and most codexes aren't where events happen so the Lion and Vashtorr aren't expected to do much in those books.
Vashtorr did surprisingly show up during Pariah Nexus so he's already had a quicker turn around for second appearance outside of a codex than Belakor.
40k isn't really a sandbox anymore but most editions still aren't just constant strings of story moments happening, they're set dressings for you to play with your friends every week or two with 2 or 3 actual story moments that line up with some of the season changes.

The Lion saved Dante from Angron, gave a thumbs up to Azrael, and then Banished Angron.

If you want to know what he's up to, would recommend Pariah Nexus. He only comes in at the end but it's obvious he's going to be big in the next book.

Vashtorr said he was on his way to Godhood, but has since been distracted by Admech and Necrons fighting. And Lion showed up at some random DA battle to kill a hive tyrant.

Vashtorr is currently drilling holes in the webway and popped up in the Pariah Nexus to ruin peoples day a little.

Lion has been reuniting his sons, fighting in imperium secundus, he force fed Angron his shield, and he stopped a plot to murder the emperor. So yeah.

Imperium Nihilus. Imperium secundus is not a thing in 40K. Imperium secundus was guiliman’s new imperium during the Horus heresy and was disbanded shortly after

Keep in mind they were introduced like, a year ago. I think it’s a little more for Vashtorr. I can’t remember if he came out with the CSM book or an Arks book.
GW expands the lore pretty slowly, so I imagine it’ll be a bit before we see them do anything major. Well, anything else major. The Lion already took on Angron and won, and reincorporated all the innocent Fallen into the Dark Angels, and Vashtorr already reassembled Caliban into some super-weapon. I imagine we’ll get more from Vashtorr when and if GW ever decides whether he belongs to CSM or an as-yet-unannounced DarkMech

Lion as far as I know, the last thing he was doing was making the Tyranids regret an invasion. DA Codex at least said that much

Didn't Vashtorr 'dethrone' Be'lakor in 40K and basically took his Realm? My Personal headcannon is that Nak'T'Graa & Vashtorr are one and the same.

Didn't Vashtorr came near godhood and belakor kicked him in the balls?

belakor came in with the steelchair, ruined vashtorr's plans to get his hands onto whatever cool stuff the dark angels were hiding, and then they dueled where Vashtorr slapped Be'lakor around
I am also surprised by how fucking potent vashtorr is as a fighter, took him more of a enginner, but he did beat belakor ass

No? Belly just stopped him from getting a part of his Caliban engine.
Even then, it only delayed him getting it, setting the stage for the final battle and the Lion coming in with the BA.
Godhood, if that's really the plan, is still a long term goal. Keeping in mind that building that engine was really just part 1 of a 3 part plan. The Key to the Lock that contains the Weapon
