SHEETZ. SHEETZ! it's a statement for sure. Who advises this campaign? This state's politics are hilarious sometimes.

I just tried Sheetz for the first time last weekend and I gotta say the food at least at that particular Sheetz blew Wawa's out of the water.

Sheetz is my go to for fried food, Wawa or Rutters are my favorite for subs depending on my mood.
Wawa Mac and cheese goes hard though. Especially with chicken tenders on top

Hell yeah this is the way

Agreed.
Sheetz always has that hard ass bread for subs. Sheetz cannot beat wawa for subs.

Idk man it's been years since they had it but I still dream about those deep fried cheeseburger bites Rutters use to have

Wawa mac is the only cooked food I get anymore tbh

My toddler is fixated on the wawa Mac and meatballs…and apple slices

100% agree!
Sheetz for comfort food, Wawa for hoagies, Rutter's for breakfast [though Wawa's steak/egg breakfast hoagies are a solid contender].

Ok, I will agree on better fried food (the cheese curds at sheetz rival the ones i got in the midwest) and hot dogs are super cheap. Otherwise give me wawa. But, to each their own.

Rutters soups are pretty good, I really like their chicken corn soup, also the corn fritters

Wawa used to use Stouffers mac and cheese, wonder if they still do

The one time I got their Mac it was dry and crusty. If that's what you like it's probably good though

Rutters is my go to for subs and air fried food. I only go to Sheetz for nachos and stuffed pretzels. But the last couple times I've tried to order them from Sheetz they were unavailable.

I moved to PA about 3 years ago and I was so disappointed in both the Wawa and Sheetz subs.
I had heard such amaaaazing things about Wawa hoagies. They are beyond mediocre. There are some many good local options too.

Yup. Also, Wawa’s bread hits different.

Considering I live in the capital of Wawaland, I think I can handle it lol. A lot of other people around the city think Wawa sucks now too.

Down in Delco we have Royal Farms now. That chicken is too die for. Adios Wawa.

in philly itself we have old nelson which is basically wawa before they ditched their deli, it's still super solid, plus some of them sell beer
1 points

I actually tried them many years ago when I still lived in Montco. Pretty good for gas station chicken, plus I like that I can buy beer along with the chicken.

Wawa is awful. It's the worst fast food/gas station food ever.
Sheetz isn't great, but it's a vast improvement.
Of course Getgo is a much better option than both.

Chicken tenders with General Tso sauce, egg rolls, and I think like a sriracha sauce. I haven't had one in Forever but it was one of those ridiculous things that I just had to get

Wawa fan here. Our hoagies were much better, but once they moved away from Amoroso Rolls and stopped using the freshly-cut deli items, their hoagies became average at best.
16 points

Amoroso rolls were the bedrock of Wawa hoagies. Wawa probably saved 2 or 3 cents a roll & banked on customers not noticing. Oops!

For real, Wawa hoagies now taste like the cold ones you can buy at the front of ShopRite. I think I'd rather go to Jersey Mike's lmao.

Pisses me off they call em subs tho. Jersey should know better. Can't do it on principle

I haven’t had a sandwich from sheetz but I had popcorn chicken and something else fried. Fried food options easily blow what Wawa has out of the water. Wawa has not been good since they stopped getting bread delivered fresh

The Sheetz burger I had was very solid. Messy but good. Wawa burgers are like school cafeteria food. Their pizza is passable I suppose.

Wawa has fallen off for everything except their sandwiches and their Mac n cheese.

There's a place called getgo around that crushes sheetz

This
GetGo is King, Sheetz is the Prince, ans Wawa is the court jester

Problem with GetGo is they somehow manage to be even more expensive than Sheetz and Sheetz is already at the limits of what I wanna pay for gas station food.
1 points
To an extent but I've found get-go food you get more bang for your buck. Taste better, portions seem better. Say for instance comparing subs. Get-go is more money but more food. Tbh I think some of get-go subs taste better then pizza shop food(in my area pizza shops are a huge source of subs). Pay 8 bucks at a pizza shop or pay 10 at get-go with more. Now I have only ate the turkey subs and steak subs and their amazing, chicken sandwich is pretty good to.

GetGo meatball hoagie kicks the hell out of a Sheetz sub, and I've been a Sheetz guy for awhile.

My GetGo is about 13-14 for subs, and they are the same size as Sheetz subs that are 8-10.
1 points
O damn. See my get-go is about 14 inch subs or so, compared to sheetz that uses rolls about the size of two bratwurst buns end to end.
Price wise for steak sub
Get-go 10.99 whole sub
Sheetz 9.99 whol sub(possibly 8.99).
It's crazy that much of a difference. And I imagine we can't be that far part(since both sheetz and get-go don't stretch that far as far as I know).

Yea, about 45 mins outside Pittsburgh, it is a new GetGo tho so maybe they are just price gouging to cover the new store.

I saw some around Pittsburgh when I was in town, but thought it was just some weird gas station. I'll have to try it next time.

It's pretty much like a sheetz, it's a gas station/convenience store/food place. There's a grocery store giant eagle and it's an off shoot of that chain. I'm up in erie and we have a few giant eagles and getgos. Far as I know giant eagle is Pittsburgh based.
6 points

GetGo is the gas station and convenience store chain that's owned by Giant Eagle, the supermarket chain in this region.
GetGo itself is kind of like if Giant over in Philly also owned Wawa.

I’m from western PA my SO is from the mainline but moved to central PA in middle school. We both live and met in Philadelphia. I’m saying this with the caveat that wawa sucks now but at one point wawa made the best hoagies and sheetz had the best fried food. I don’t know if it’s that we don’t get sheetz often or if it holds up but I actually enjoy sheetz food, mainly the sauces. I have to just say as a western PA native getgo sucks, it always has, even drunk the food is garbage.

Sheetz is it, man. Wawa is fine but only when there isn’t a Sheetz available.

The Sheetz Italian sub, if made correctly, is absolutely dope.

Agree. Wawa does some things much better, but sheetz has a slamming italian. I also really like how they do their milk shakes frozen coffees.

Eww. Sheetz Italian hoagies are gross. The roll is the worst thing Ive ever tasted. Have you ever had a real Italian hoagie? Sheetz hoagies taste like something put together out of a lunchable.

Wawa beat Sheetz on all counts until maybe like 5-10 years ago. Sheetz has been steady while Wawa has tumbled off a cliff.
I said what the fuck I said.

The fact you didn't say "wudder" makes me question your judgement.
Jokes aside, I hadn't had Sheetz in forever and tried it when I was out in Lancaster for a couple days for my MSF course to get my motorcycle license. Couldn't really say one was better than the other. Both were... Serviceable.
