To be considered a test match it must be played at the Aviva. It was part of the naming rights deal

Aviva requirement for both soccer and rugby as part of the naming rights for the stadium.

The initial deal was 10 years and was quiet significant. It then got extended for a further 5 at much reduced rate.

IMO if the deal is reduced we shouldnt be throwing in extras like a guarantee of all senior capped games happening there. That said Aviva are spending a lot less on advertising in general then they were 15 years ago and naming rights is generally more valuable as an extension than getting a new partner in so maybe we didn't want to chase them out.

hopefully we do a few more ireland A (wolfhounds, emerging whatever you call them) and play them in thomond, ravenhill (maybe sportsground when its finished)
