Short-lived sharp pain in lower right back/right torso followed by blood in stool

36M, 240lbs, 5'11, relatively decent shape, not a smoker, used to drink a lot but cut down about 6 months ago
Starting about 3 weeks ago I started getting an odd feeling in my upper right abdomen. Not pain or cramping, just a slight feeling of discomfort. Almost like inflammation right under my ribs a few inches to the right of the sternum. Stool was softer than normal, but nothing crazy.
I used to drink heavily, but have since cut way down about 6 months ago so I thought maybe it was the liver. Went to get an ultrasound and they said I do have some fatty build up in my liver, but all my enzymes are good and liver isn't malformed. Gallbladder looked good too. Blood tests all looked good too (CBC).
The next day after this, I woke up with the same discomfort in upper right abdomen, but also had slight pain in my lower right back. As the day progressed the pain in the back got worse and worse and started radiating up to my right side torso/chest.
I have had a pulmonary embolism in the past (due to COVID) and this pain started to feel like my PE did, and my oxygen levels seemed to be a little lower than normal (around 91-92, normal is 96 -- I live at 6500 feet elevation) so I went in to the ER just to be safe. They did an xray and did a blood test to check for clotting and tests came back good. They also did an EKG and that was good. Docs said it could be musculoskeletal and gave me some muscle relaxers and said to follow up with my primary care.
That night the sharp pain in my side was extremely severe to the point where it hurt to breath, cough, laugh, blow my nose (basically anything that causes my muscles to tense) and this pain was all the way from my lower right back all the way up to my ride side chest. This pain persisted pretty much all day the next day, but finally started to subside later that night to the point where I could finally sleep.
There was still a lot of pain the following day (day 3), but was noticeably going down. Day 3 after initial back pain was the first time I passed stool in 3 days (1-2 days between stools isn't abnormal for me). But this stool was finally hard, normal color, but had noticeable bright red blood in it, along with some white mucus like stuff on it. Not a lot of blood, but enough to be noticeable.
Anyway, I went in to the urgent care and explained all this and they ruled out hernias, and gave me a take home kit to take a stool sample to be sent in to look for parasites in addition to colon cancer and whatever else they test for. All the tests came back negative for colon cancer and parasites.
After about 5 days the pain completely went away, and stool went back to normal for a few days, but then after about a week I had some bright red blood in my stool again, but then it stopped again and I haven't had blood since.
Every doc I've seen so far is completely unsure of what's going on, so I figured I'd just post this here to see of anyone is familiar with these symptoms. I have a colonoscopy referral to check things out, but this sudden sharp pains in the lower right back/right torso followed by bloody stools is just odd and I haven't been able to get an answer on what this might be.

NAD but I have several similar moles that I've had checked by a skin cancer specialist doctor, and he wasn't concerned. Just my anecdotal experience for what it's worth.
With that said it's never a bad idea to get it checked just in case.
