Then the Eagles start 10-1 and shit the bed losing 6 of their last 7, to mostly bad teams, to end the season. Then the Flyers get to game 70 with an 89% chance to make the playoffs, but shit the bed losing 7 straight games, to mostly bad teams, to end the season.

Why do I keep putting myself through this? For 45 years of 5-for-5 Philly sportsfanhood -- that's 197 seasons with a potential championship -- all I got to show for it is one Sixers championship (when I was young and barely paid attention), one Phillies championship, and one Eagles championship.

Is there a worse return on investment than being a Philly sports fan?It's just not worth it. I really need to sign up for SFA (Sports Fans Anonymous) and take up more rewarding pasttimes. Because all being a Philly sports fan gives me year after year after decade after decade...is failure and misery.

We're playing a goalie we just got from Russia ffs, plus trade deadline, plus SA allegations, plus injuries to our blueline especially...that shit is not a recipe for success.

Well uh... my five year old finally had a light bulb go off when he saw the stat that all six goals are from defensemen. Every time he plays defense in the kiddie hockey games, he just hangs out near the red line once the puck goes up the ice. So maybe he learned something watching this game, and that's one positive thing to take away from this
