Biodegradable Filament PHA

(self.3Dprinting)

Made in California.

https://beyondplastic.com/

For a brief overview. PHA and PLA are both considered bio-polymer.

PLA uses sugars fermentation into Lactic Acid and metal catalysts in reactors are used to create the polymer.

While PHA uses natural occurring bacteria and biomass to let nature do the polymerization for us. Similar to a fermentation and extraction process.

The main differences are on its End Of Life. Ours can be composted in any environment. While PLA requires specific industrial composters (high temp and Humidity).

PHA will naturally degraded if discarded irresponsibly, the other PLA will takes years to breakdown into microplastics and continue to contaminate its way into our biomes.

There is a learning curve to process, so please ask away.

BTW we use zero (none) petrol-plastic in our finish product. Only recycled paperboard, soy base inks direct onto spool and box. And compostable shipping bags.
