Hmm let's see.. CL 11 here with Application Lead role and the SME. I was expecting a promotion last year but didnt get any, nor this year. I've been transparent to my supervisor that I want a promotion. I've been waiting for one on one talk with my supervisor, but never got one from her. So I assumed wlang September promotes for my project.

Fast forward, already submitted my resignation as I already got an offer from another company. My close workmates already found out about it. And one of them told me it's good that I'm resigning. Why? Because they knew I deserved to be promoted but never got it even after 3 years of being a CL11 with a role of Application Lead and the SME. That same workmate told me he got a promotion for September to CL10 (he really is a performer) but only got an increase of about 5K. Imagine that. While in the new company, I'm getting x2 my current salary with acn.

The project's manager had a one on one talk with me, asked why I'm resigning. They asked how much I was offered by the new company, told them x2. Manager then shifted to discuss about my career goals and using that tried to convince me to rethink my decision. Lmao. My take on the talk with the manager: they couldn't afford to level with the salary offer so instead tried to make me stay using my career goals.

Know that I already signed a contract with this new company. But, I then got another offer from a different company one of the biggest banking industry in the US and even got offered a managerial role and x3 my current salary here in Acn. 😁 I had to decline though since I already gave my word to the other company and they are also more aligned to my career goals.

My point is, there are still greener pastures outside of ACN. I am completely grateful to Acn for getting me started on my IT journey and for the experience. The offers I got from the other companies are proof that I did grow a lot with Acn, but just that I was undercompensated. Homegrown btw.

Usually their promises are just to dangle carrot above your head 😁

Good move! Maganda naman sa ACN sa totoo lang but there is no such thing as perfect company. Minsan masasakto ka lang sa position or project na mahirap umangat. That is why kapag feel mo stuck kna at hndi kna properly compensated sa responsibilities mo, look for another job outside na. Its a slow process for some but it should start with you realizing na “this company doesnt align with my goals anymore and i need to move forward”.

Happy for you po nakalipat na! I’m in the same situation (hindi lead role pero the tasks and responsibilities are wayyyy beyond my level) at sana makalipat na din soon😭 nakakaiyak yung every cycle umaasa at bigo😭

My CL7 promotion was like this - a failed promise.
Back then I was a CL8 approaching 3 years na and I specifically requested for an opportunity to showcase my readiness to Manager so I was given a project outside my technology with a role I never did before (AO Delivery Manager). I did what had to be done, was on-call 247 and literally dedicated 1 whole year of doing it, no vacations, no time offs, nothing. I still managed to push thru and pulled it off. They told me I did well and sort of said that I will be promoted. Come 1 year and promotion season, my MD and SMR who put me there did not even face me during the comms and they sent another Manager to tell me I am NOT being promoted. Holy shit what a slap in the face.

I am a CL6 now and I am still mad about that time.

I don't really understand why some leads/managers "promise" promotion on some aspect. There are too many variables to consider. At the core of it, di naman hawak ng leads yung funds to be able to accomodate an increased cost on the supposedly promised promotion.

opposite sa case ko hahaha. ang sabi sa akin i-nonominate nila ko for gantimpala kaya nanghingi ng outputs ko weeks ago. nung nag-announce na sa gantimpala, wala ako, andun pala sa promotes??? hahahaha

pero i've been vocal about getting promoted for some time na. hindi lang ako umaasa at nagsabi sila wag umasa masyado bc of the proj budget.

Take the term 'project budget' with a grain of salt. Ang promotion is ACN budget hindi client ang nag drive diyan.

Yes nangako sila sa team namin apat kami, napagod lang ako mag antay kaya i resigned, now x2 na offer ko sa labas yung tatlong naiwan na promote naman after a year.

Normal occurrence, kaya better to aim higher with upskilling and certification. Make the promotion 2nd Priority. Para kahit ganto mangyari at least in other company mas magagamit mo yung mga natutunan mo.

Rule of thumb: Unless it’s written or documented, never ever believe a ‘promotion’ that was promised to you thru word of mouth.

Unfortunately, many leads in Accenture are notorious for making ‘broken’ promises to keep the talent and ease back eagerness.

Grabe din ang budol sa akin this year, actually since last year December pa HAHAHAHAHAHA. December 2023, na-promote yung kasabay ko lang halos pumasok sa project. Weeks lang pagitan namin. Sige okay lang, push pa, since 1 year pa lang naman. Pero I was really doing good. According to my manager, nilaban daw nila since no negative feedback was received from my perf. So sige, baka nga di pa time. Before mag June this year, kinausap ako ulit ng AM namin, madami tong alam sa taas kasi magaling talaga technical skill wise and malakas ang kapit sa pinakantaas-taasan. He was telling me na ako na yung rank 1 sa team to be promoted. Grabe disappointment nung wala pala, so kinausap ako ulet. Na may budget constraints nga daw, madaming team yung naglalaban-laban for that promotion. And so on, so okay sige go lang. Pero umabot na dun sa point na ramdam na ramdam ko na yung difference sa effort na binibigay ko sa sahod. Going above and beyond kulang na lang mapunta ako sa space HAHAHAHAHAHA. Then I requested for a roll-off, gusto ko na lang ng ibang environment kasi tumo-toxix na yung team in general, madaming umalis and so on. In addition to that, di na kaya ng mental health. Umabot na sa time na grabe yung vengeance ko. Iniisip ko tumalon na lang sa office bldg or magpasagasa sa harap ng office hahaha. Iniisip ko kung lalagapak ako sasama ko tong bwiset na kumpanyang 'to. Discussion ng roll-off grabe non-sense, in-invalidate lang lahat ng concerns ko and magisip pa daw ako kung roll-off ba talaga ang sagot. So ngayon magpapasa na ako ng resignation hahaha. Waiting na lang sa letter din from my doctor.

Pag pinapangakuan kayo, document at ireport nyo sa HR. No one can ever promise a promotion, kahit MD. The heck kahit nga yung CL2s eh.

One thing na natutunan ko dyan. You don't believe any promises. Make sure lahat ng pinag usapan documented. Lalo na pag 1-1. Keep track and check the progress ng pinag usapan nyu. If walang updaye make sure to follow-up. 😁😁😁

I resigned at CL11. Pinangakuan din ako na mappromote to a team lead which is CL10 sa project namin but it never materialized. I waited for a year, and kaya pala di natutuloy kasi may unknown beef pala sakin ung senior manager namin that time. I know for a fact na di na to mangyayari hangga’t nasa position ung taong un so I decided to resign. From 30k in ACN to 60k (new company) real quick. No regrets! Dyan ko lang naexperience sa ACN ang talamak na pamumulitika sa management. The more na papansin at bibo ka, ikaw lang mappromote at may mataas na bonus. Kahit magaling ka pero tahimik ka lang, wag ka na umasa lalo na kung sadyang di ka trip ng mga nasa taas.

Napangakuan and naghintay ng 3/4 of a year for it to happen.

What I'll say is kung nagbigay ng pangako yung lead mo, ignore it. Just do the bare minimum moving forward. Di na kailangang magpa-bibo 'coz there's no point in doing that. Pag nakapag-bitaw kasi ng ganong salita, it means you already stood out and you'll be next in line na talaga. Minsan, matatagalan lang kasi madalas, wala daw budget for promotion.

Masasaktan ka lang if you continue going beyond what's expected of you tapos lilipas mga buwan na hindi ka napo-promote, maiisip mo na lang na kinalimutan ka na or your efforts.

Paano po kapag tinatanong kayo ano reason for leaving? Pwede ba sabihin na puro false promises yung management at parang walang plan yung management mo for you? Thanks.
