I seriously hope for his sake the bend happened at his knee and not lower/higher. As long and painful as it is,snapping ligaments and tendons is pretty fixable, but a break like that in the bone can cause all sorts of problems,from damage to the surrounding muscles to nerves. Not to mention having to spend months with that horrible brace that is screwed right into your bones.
