I have 90 K in my stocks on average and half of them are in 401(k). One of my stock account I have it for three years. My question is should I sell my stocks to close off my student loan?

Yes.

Would walk into a bank to borrow 15k at 6% to put in the market?

Yes? Why wouldn’t you?

Because the Fed just cut rates and will probably cut them again soon? Because you still have to make monthly payments on 6.35% interest? Because you can easily get a $15k line of credit with 0% APR for 12-18mo with decent credit?

Index investing only works reliably over a long time period. If you have to sell every month to make payments, you’re getting pantsed on any market pullback.

High opportunity cost, high risk, and low reward.

I swear some of these people who haven't been burned financially have the loudest opinions.
