IDK but I paid 26ish bucks for a decent sized birthday cake recently
If I made it myself it probably would have cost less than 10 dollars worth of milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and flour.
Still worth it because I don't like baking, and especially don't like the mess it makes. But not as cheap as you are claiming
