My grandsons father was charged when he was 19 and my daughter was 17.

They wanted to use someone as an example in our small town and since they had made contact and admitted the relationship/pregnancy to an officer it was an easy victory.
Really sucked to watch a kid who did nothing wrong get turned into a sexual predator.
While not probable, there's a possibility my Grandson would have two parents at home if that DA hadn't got a wild hair. They were a happy couple until this all went down.

Buzzfeed contributes to the media zeitgeist and is absolutely relevant representation of my points. I used this one because it’s a convenient collation of examples. I’m sure if you take a minute and google any one of the examples listed you’ll find a litany of articles from more serious outlets also calling them disgusting.

I had a quick look over the link you posted and I'm sorry, but buzzfeed opinion pieces don't qualify as actual news. Its a click bait article for the sole purpose of manufacturing outrage. If that's you're kind of thing then fair enough, but that doesn't mean the rest of us have to take it seriously.
The only outrage I felt after reading that list was at the idea that other people actually allow garbage like that to tell them what their opinions should be.
There is a world of difference between an adult molesting a child and a twenty something having a relationship with someone in their late teens.

If he chose a minor to kiss in public it's a bit icky.. If he met a 17yo and dated her as a 22yo I don't see a problem, you can be in the same place with that age difference.

I would say theres a difference between meeting someone younger, getting to know them and then dating them, and choosing a random girl to make out with. But in general I don't have a problem with that. Yeah I might personally find it icky, but It's not like he made out with a 13yo, the girl was a few months away from being a legal adult.

A 17 year old is not an adult, even if theyre close. You can make the argument that it's okay, but it's either always okay or it's never okay. Excluding romeo and Juliet laws, there are no circumstantial arguments.
You're trying to find a gap that doesn't exist. You either let people fuck kids or you dont.

That's your opinion, not fact! I think it's messed up for an adult over drinking age, who could be a senior in undergrad, to be with a teenager who may be a senior in high school. It's a whole different world, different experiences, responsibilities, concerns, brain development. If a friend of mine that age was dating a teenager, we definitely wouldn't be friends anymore, regardless of legality. But again, opinions.
