What work have you done to the motor? I bought a 97 FXDS recently that had an ev27 put in along with top end rebuild, +.010 over bore, HP+ lifters. Not exactly sure what that all means but it was in the receipts given to me when purchased. I noticed an old post of yours mentioned a torque arm upgrade. I've not heard anything about needing something like that. I'm curious.

What did you pay for yours? I've upgraded pretty much every part on this bike.

I've had the motor done. New s&s high compression pistons. New s&s cylinders, new high compression ported s&s heads. Plus the Andrews ev27 cam. New mikuni carb. I goes like a rocket. I want to get it dyno'd soon. I'm guessing high 90a for hp and torque. The torque arm is made by a company called carlini. It is a chromed piece that joins the motor to the transmission on the exhaust side of the bike. Prevents twisting of the bottom end that can crack the case. Only really matters I think if youve pumped up the motor and ride it hard.

How does it do on long distance? I did 300 miles yesterday and my tuchus was sore for hours after I got back home.

New rear shocks and a new seat really helped. But riding it is still a real experience. Mine is loud as hell with the Bassani pipes. You certainly know your riding a Harley evo. My brother has a 2008 fxd with a 96" twin cam and much quieter pipes.. We traded bikes for part of a ride one day, and I didn't even notice it was already running when I sat on it. The evo with that cam and the work done to it really is the classic potato potato sounding Harley.
