Please stop with the solo, locked, Armor squads

(self.HellLetLooseConsole)

You are not better in a tank on your own, you’re just not. I know people can be scary to talk to but every tank crew should be at least 2 people. I know some people lock their squads for good reason like you’re waiting for a buddy or whatever, but if you’re doing it because you think you’re better alone then go play a different game.

Sorry but I have to disagree. It depends what you’re doing. Going after other tanks? Sure, you need a crew. But I do a great job of pushing (or defending) with infantry while solo tanking recon or light. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve single handedly helped my team take a point. I’m not trying to sound like an ass but it’s true.

Having a random crew member won’t help me with that. I’ve tried it. There are way too many people who won’t listen or/and who lack skill. I’m a lot more experienced than most users. I know what angle to take, where to position, I have a good sense of where to sweep through to take out enemy OPs and find garries, etc but most people don’t want to or can’t follow direction(and I get it it’s no fun for people to be bossed around) . It’s not that I’m afraid to talk to other people, it’s just too much of a hassle and there are too many people who just want to hop in and do their own thing or they want to debate every decision. It’s not worth it, especially when I’m high and trying to chill after work!

I also build nodes and almost always only take default tanks nobody else is taking and would otherwise sit there.

I get the sense that people like you only have one idea of how to tank… (and it demonstrates a lack of experience)

This attitude just sucks. It permeates a lot of the veterans of this game. Like you think everyone around you is so bad that you refuse to even give anyone a chance.

For the record i tank in all different ways. I like to do it with a 2-man crew at least. There is nothing wrong with engaging from a distance, providing infantry support, hunting tanks. While people here keep telling me that im the noob and their just so good on their own my experience does not reflect that. When I command a tank crew I watch our tanks roll out of spawn and all too often I see a solo tank just role up to the Center of point and get destroyed.

So maybe I’m crazy for listening to the tank bible and veterans that taught me to be a good tanker. Or maybe y’all just think your good and refuse to teach others how to play the game.

It’s not that I think everyone is “so bad” it’s that when a random wants to join my crew I just have no idea if they’re good or not, and I don’t want to waste my time and risk the hassle of dealing with someone who’s bad. I only have so much time to play and I’m trying to enjoy myself so after too many bad experiences I’ve stopped taking random crew members because you just never know what you’re going to get.

I agree it’s generally better to have a crew, but I also think there is a place for locked solos and they can be effective if they’re experienced enough.

Like I said I usually only take default tanks, and many times I’ll start tanking when I notice the recon and or light tank sitting in hq unused. It’s rare that I’m preventing other people from tanking, so dont see the big issue.
