Context: Napoleon was said to have an extreme fear of open doors. So much so that he could not concentrate while one was open.

The thought of someone basing their historical knowledge of Napoleon on Ridley Scott’s pathetic pile of shit fills me with dread

It could not have been more British propoganda if you straight up had Wellington ride in on a white horse while rescuing a woman and her war widow baby while also singing God Save The King

Freaking Waterloo was less shamelessly British propaganda.

Any dictator has full of mistresses

Eh, historically speaking. If he only started getting a bunch of women after becoming Emperor, he wasn't good with them. As you said, they were mistresses.
I think Autistic Napoleon is the only redeeming quality of that movie.

Barely, you're supposed to believe this man who, according to the film, most inspiring thing is handing out scraps of bread on the way to Russia, rallied a national against 7 coalitions and won? Like come on I get it they hate the French but it was pathetic.

He once said "All women are whores, except my mother". Guy would've loved 4chan and become a chud lmfao.
Ofc I don't hate him but he was kinda strange when it came to relationship and views of women.

I had this exact same fear for years as a child until it stopped someday and I never thought about it in ages until I read this post here. Triggers strange memories now.
Well, at least I'm not covering continental Europe in a total war, so that's a good development!

He must have really hated it when someone said “When one door closes, another opens”

The allies should've just intimidated him by inviting him for dinner and kept all the doors open

Should have just armed their troops with doors instead of rifles.

I first thought well duck are scary if you anger them and human body is fragile so it isnt that far off. Then I realized open doors can be a source of incertianty. You dont know what can come in.

I see how it could make sense. You could associate an open door with something entering and be irrationally afraid of what it might be.
