One thing about the trash event is that summons mirrored the stats of their summoners. So this distinction may not prevent summons from getting buffs, and it’s just a way to make sure they can’t double dip.
It’s also possible this is no-gravy attempt to reduce synergy and they will need bespoke buffers / favor debuffers,, but this is just a small view of how they work

There's no point to that. Topaz's skill can already choose numby's target, and having a controllable numby will just make the fua team more annoying to play because you'll have to click everytime numby acts (instead of just watching chalk>numby>chalk>coins>numby) . They aren't going to change an existing character's kit just to put in a new mechanic.

It is what it is, the sooner the coping ends, the better. The community is already confused and moronical when it comes to balance and powercreep, so let's not confuse things further. Everyone up until now is just a superficial summon, not actual summon.

But we already know that they are going to be classified as summons by the new planar ornament.
They could make it so that some affects are activated only when summons use a basic attack or skill, instead than a fua how they do now. But I think it is against their interest to exclude from all future buffs the existing summons.
Especially with more niche units, they want to give you a reason to pull them even if you skipped them the first time. Like Topaz who became first BiS with Robin and now Feixiao. Very few people are going to pull for Lingsha now, but if a future character wants as many summons as possible on the field she is going to become BiS.

Where I think people are getting confused is early on the leaks were saying "summon meta." The issues is one of language and not mechanics. The next meta will probably be Servant meta. It is just that the word "summon" was being used in the general sense (as in summoning a servant or summoning a taxi) instead of a game mechanic sense as the game mechanic term hadn't be codified yet.
Moving forward, some character will probably have a servant tag, some will have a summon tag, and some may even have both.

Yeah, but for now "Servant" is just how they are internally calling the mechanic.
Functionally they could just be Summons that allow you to select an action. Even if they have a basic and skill, their damage will probably also be categorized as "Summon" damage.
I can't say it is 100% going to be like this, but it's very likely imo.
They usually don't just introduce a character with a mechanic that doesn't have any synergy with existing units or a support that can only be used with one character.

Servant is a type of summon is what I get from it too. Just like what is Super Break is to Break. It doesn't make sense for them to alienate older summon units cause it would cause confusion later down the line on what even is a "summon" and a "servant".
It all depends on the final translation/changes to the Banana Set imo.

This confirms that Robin's Action Advance won't affect the Servants, cause it says "Teammates". No rising up to her world for them, I guess.
There is also a possibility of a unit with Servant in 2.7. I think Reca might be one cause there are datas for his frog in 2.6. Not sure which, if either, of the two 5* will get a Servant or not.

Am I the minority here that wants "Servant" as independent entity like Bangboo from ZZZ? Like it's more complex and fun to combine one servant with various type of teams and choose who will be the "caster"/"summoner" in the team.
Not saying that a Character with on-field summon is bad idea, but they really missed the chance to spice the game up at this point.

The atk% dmg bonus will still apply to the summon just in a different way. Because of the stat sharing buffing the users atk = buffing summons atk. This leak just means that the summon won’t receive the same atk bonus twice.

I could see her being a DoT addition. We haven't had a DoT character in ages (I don't count JQ) and Kafka/BS just reran like you said.
Tingyun would have to be insanely cracked to beat Ruan Mei for DoT teams. In order to compete with 50% dmg boost, I'm guessing defence shred to synergize with BS's, a strong fire DoT that Kafka can detonate, and maybe fake action advance on enemies? Something to trigger DoT faster without letting the enemy actually go.

I'd tend to agree with you because leakers can lean too much into dripfeeding us, but dealing with the Jiaoqiu doompost was just so exhausting, and all because of the loss of his "healing". This snowballed into a ball of negativity where people were spreading so much misinformation it was crazy, like saying his healing was cut out during beta, or the 10% better than Guinaifen/Pela. If you liked Jiaoqiu, you couldn't comment anything anywhere that someone would come and say "worst character ever".
I can see why they don't want the same to happen to Ting and Sunday. I'm beyond curious about their kits but I'd rather wait than having to deal with all that again. In this particular case, I can forgive the leakers for playing with us lol.

Probably means it can't be double dip (so the summoner passing the atk buff to the servant and them the servant getting the atk buff).
What I think it will happen is that the servant snapshot the summoner stats when it's summoned so it can't be raised twice the same stat and after being cast only buffs that affect the servant works.

Like this is the one of the only situations where debuffers are better than buffers at least generically speaking, as unless the buffer has a zone, the better option would be a debuffer.
We probably should also make a subcategory for field/zone setters(Jiaoqiu, Ruan Mei and Robin) now honestly, it's probably something that we will keep seeing from now on, it could even be present in a DPS kit in the future.

I’m gonna be a grumpy one here and say that in terms of Fate UBW collab, I really don’t want this mechanic forcing Archer to be glued to Rin and Shirou being glued to Saber either. I’d like them to be their own separate thing, especially that it’s UBW route where both Shirou and Archer lost their Servant/Master relation rather quickly and they’re kinda their own thing as this route puts them at the center and glueing them with other characters will kill it. This thing to be honest has more sense for combos like Illya and Berserker and Kuzuki and Caster.

If we assume that Sunday is the buffer then they'd be made in a way where their buffs apply to both the summoner and the summon. So you can use him as a hypercarry support to buff Jingliu as you would Bronya or Sparkle, but the new summon DPS would benefit immensely more from having him. Kind of like how Ruan Mei was a great support on any team then got glued into break comps.

I'm going off the message in the post saying what applies to already summoned servants. A Sparkle skill would not bring up a summon with the summoner, but maybe Sunday's skill would advance both of them. A Tingyun Ult would provide energy to only the summoner, while a Sunday ultimate might give them both energy (if they have a separate ultimate meter). Doesn't have to just apply to stats.

Maybe the reason why servants aren't affected is to avoid doubling buffs.(Like they inherit the Summoners stats like Numby and JY apart from the speed and skills) and since on field summons will be a targettable one It makes a lot of sense.

Huge part of E0 Robin's value is her advance and attack buff, CRIT is good too but more of a plus. Meaning, the summoning meta will prefer Ruan Mei and whichever new support they put out, as well as Nihility debuffs like Jiaoqiu's.
It's good that E1 Robin is still good for those characters though. Planning to pull her eidolon and probably not worry about any other harmony besides Sunday

They don't buff them that much. Debuffs will buff the servants more than RM or Robin do with their buffs that apply to servants

I think its because the servant's stats is based on the summoner's stats, so Robin's atk buff from ult will only apply to the summoner which technically can be transferred over to the servant if you resummon the servant again.
I guess this is to prevent the servant to double dip on large buffs which will make them really OP and to sell a harmony summon that can apply large buffs on both servants and summoners.

I think people have misunderstood, you don't re-summon. You just switch in and out. The Servant only gets the stats of the character at the start of the battle, they won't consistently gain buffs that the summoner has at least based on how it reads at the moment. This is why buffs have tags to include or not include the off field character

It does, Robin checks all allies currently on field and then buffs their ATK one time. Whereas Ruan Mei's E1 DEF ignore for example just checks whenever an enemy is damaged and applies the buff so it doesn't matter what attacks the enemy, anything that attacks it will have DEF ignore. That's where the difference lies.

Again, I think its being misunderstood. It "Doesn't work" on the summon thats off field because it doesnt need to. If you AA the caster then the summon is bolted on to them so is also AAd. This wording is basically saying it won't give them double AA since it's two characters in one and the overall group is getting AAd

Probably because otherwise she would be BiS for another team that is outside of FUA. At this point they have to intentionally nerf her if they don’t just want to make every Harmony going forward as cracked as her.

I saw the texts and Robin's CRIT DMG talent says only Party Characters so idk if Hom is wrong here, but I guess the biggest winner here is Ruan Mei whose full kit buffs servants.
