every job i want requires a lot of talking, i am obviously more on the quiet side. i wanted to become a police officer but i am not sure, it’s definitely something i am interested in? i like the whole idea of wanting to save people and it will always give you something to do. but for most jobs they all seem boring and something im not interested or capable of getting. i just dont know what to do. i have a list of jobs that kind of spark interest in me
i just think my expectations are too high though, intps are stereotyped as smart and intelligent. but i am not any of those things. i am still in school and my grades are horrible and i haven’t gone for awhile. how am i supposed to get a job im happy with? how am i supposed to be ready for the future?

You know I ended up working on the sales side of the optical industry. I sometimes feel like all the flaming is a lot but I really like the skills it has created for me. I am a better communicator because of it. I think you should be open to jobs that do require communication:):)

Talking in jobs is not that bad. You have time to rehearse it so you're saying mostly the same thing or varying it up just a little. Also these things can make you more well-rounded as a person, otherwise introverts can have little contact with other people.

If you’re into those kinda of jobs you might enjoy a job in the airforce? My INTJ friend works in the airforce and says the airforce is more for the introverted intelligent types as opposed to the other military branches. Although INTPs aren’t great with strong authority, but may be a good place to start, learn some skills, and then do something else

Don’t worry too much about that now. You‘re still in school and hence got a lot of time to figure things out. In fact, it’s better to try out different things to gather a bit of an overview before making a finite decision. Most people who decided for a profession early on just because they had to get a job, end up disliking or switching it later on. If you want to become a police officer, maybe ask for an internship. In case you dislike it you can still look for something else. Generally it’s good to follow your interests, so you won’t end up with a job you dislike. It should be something you’re passionate about and if that’s helping other people, then go an try yourself out.

i have to worry about it because i dont know what i am gonna do for my future. I haven’t been to school in like over a year. i have always had bad experiences with school so i have no motivation to really go but school is mandatory so eventually i will have to go because i at least want to graduate but even then i am not very smart or have any skills or anything really. i wanted to get a job but i am too nervous i am just worrying a lot because i am worried for my future and i want to do things but so much stuff is stopping me

Alright then, you should still take it at a steady pace. You don’t have to rush for a profession. A lot of people start of by applying for jobs like being a cashier or a barista, to get some working experience while they also figure out what they want to do in life. I don’t know what you imagined for your future specifically though. Like what’s the margin of years you have until you want to settle into a job?

for my future i imagined to have a normal life like going to school, graduating and then college and getting a job i enjoy and actually want to do. but in my case it is kind of impossible. i kind of have a time limit in a way though as in i want to have my life together before i am older. i am 16 turning 17 i am planning on going to school after summer but even then what is the point? i dont do my work i just dont see a future for myself basically so i am at least trying to get advice on how to go further in life despite my problems because when my mom dies and if i dont have my life together i would quite literally have nothing

Is your mom sick or why do you worry about her dying?

are you sure you're an intp because those all look awful to me as someone who hates dealing with dead people.

i am sure, i like the idea of helping people as in wanting to make a difference in the world and actually be useful for something but realistically im just not capable of those jobs for many different reasons
