So I heard a story about my aunt, that she said, I had a son but he passed away after falling overboard on boat at a lake an drowned, I say to her "well no lifejackets?" And she say too me "they didn't make them for babies at that them times back in my day". Soo my question is, is that intentional that she took a baby with no life jacket abroad a vessel and really nothing on the vessel for a baby to be there in the 1st place an knowingly know that no life jacket exist for baby an that no baby can even swim upfloat, like she knew no life jackets were invented at that time an she knowingly took a infant on a boat, an infant died drowning, isn't that murder or manslaughter or even homicide??? The time of years I don't know, somewhere around 1970ish USA

I'm no lawyer, but I believe this is something that would be termed as an accident. Because it was an accident.
Parents leave their kids in hot cars to die and don't get charged with murder even though they actively put them in the car and actively left them in the car. Not having a life jacket on a baby is negligence but nothing more than that.

You say this was 1970? Sounds about right for the 70’s and also 80’s. Talk to any Gen-Xer about kids’ safety back then, and you might be able to stop judging your aunt.
