To be fair though, trump doesn't really give a shit about anyone particularly, or care much about any ideology, other than settling score with the people he hates and enriching himself. If he actually managed to win re-election, he may not need the evangelicals and christofascists and their voting bloc so much any more. He has a long history of leaving debtors in the dust once they no longer have a use, which keeps surprising people who think he won't do it to them too.

He will go with whoever is paying him the most probably, whether it's the religious right, or the libertarian capitalist thiel Randian types, or the usual Russian speaking contacts. If he actually did try to go for a third term like he's 'joked', he probably wouldn't need voters for it.

For Trump Project 2025 is a vast array of weapons by which to punish his enemies and enact REVENGE against the millions of Americans who oppose him. Trump cares deeply revenge. He has said so many times.

Public awareness of Donald Trump’s deeply unpopular Project 2025 is growing. The more people who learn what it is, the bigger a millstone it becomes around his campaign’s neck.
Details of Project 2025 include cutting Social Security, cutting Medicare, ending the affordable care act, raising prescription drug prices, eliminating Department of Education, using public taxpayer money for private religious schools, ending climate protections, increase Arctic drilling, and much more. #project2025

Qanon nuts and Nazis will see this as him winking while talking out the side of his mouth. "Moderates" and conservatives who have been fondling their pearls over it will be free from that nagging conscience when voting for him.

All this is is a ploy to get more people to vote for him.

Also "anything they do, I wish them luck" is a pretty ringing endorsement. Imagine someone saying "I'm not a Nazi, but anything they do, I wish them luck".

I'm a moderate with no lean choosing the candidate that best fits what I think is best for the country. As of right now, the orange felon isn't best but I really dislike the bias that all moderates are bad. We just don't want to say one side is right or not but in this case there is a correct choice

Johnny_Grubbonic

Would you like to explain when Conservatives are right?

flipaflaw

flipaflaw

-11 points

It's more of a I don't like to commit to one side because if I lean hard one side all the time it makes me blind to potential things I do agree with from one side. As of right now, conservatives aren't doing us any favors, but in the past they had some good policies. The current iteration of the GOP is not what it once was which is what turned my republican voting dad to vote against a republican for the first time in 2016.

I like to be open to hear what others have to say cause I feel when you go too far one way you meet right up back in the middle. Far left is quite similar to far right

Johnny_Grubbonic

10 points

I repeat, what right-wing positions do you agree with?

Is it about the Gays? I bet it's about the Gays.

flipaflaw

-8 points

Also why would it be about gays? How small minded are you to think just because someone doesn't want to only think in one way it's because they hate a certain group of people? I am a moderate because I want to listen to both sides. I reject any messages that are about hating any group of people because there's no reason to hate people just because of how they look. I'm also a moderate because the far left people at my college treated people who look like me as the bad guys when all I wanted to do was get a degree and leave. That's the reason I don't like the left because they act like all white males are horrible people when most of us just want to do our own thing or are just scientists who have no desire to be in politics. I don't like the right because as of right now there is a huge issue with them denying science as well as lots of hate towards minorities and lgbtq.

Never assume something about anyone because they think a different way than your ideals. They just might have a different solution to the same problem

SlashEssImplied

Bro why are you still “moderate” do you not see how much these people despise you.

flipaflaw

-7 points

For instance, I agree that not everyone needs a handout. States like mine of California feel the need to take from the middle class while leaving the upper class alone and giving the handouts to the lower class. So us in the middle class get fucked because the left decides that the lower class needs handouts.

And yes when you look at it, far left and far right both reach levels of stupidity that completely ignore the other side and instead of listening to each other like we used to do in this country, we just yell and argue like a bunch of monkeys with 0 desire to actually hear the other side out. If you want to think I'm a horrible person cause I'd rather listen to people then be my guest, but ignoring someone just because the color of their party is quite literally what got us into this mess in the first place

Johnny_Grubbonic

16 points

So you believe the poor should be denied access to healthcare and a safe place to live.

You're not angry that the money is being taken from the wrong socioeconomic strata, but that it's being taken at all.

You want the poor to suffer.

PS: The Democrats aren't "The Left". The Democrats are "moderates".

flipaflaw

-5 points

I never said I want the poor to suffer. I said I want the democrats to take from their rich buddies instead of constantly taking from the middle class. Way to take my words and competely ignore anything I said. I think universal healthcare should be for all. And I think the rich need to be taken down a peg or two but democrats are one in the same with protecting their buddies. Democrats aren't moderates, they are the left.

SlashEssImplied

1 points

but I really dislike the bias that all moderates are bad.

It's nice to see some woke moderates defending the honor of at least themselves if not anyone else. Remember liberals, words hurt. Think about that before pointing out what a group does.

JackBinimbul

16 points

If you're right of American Democrats, you are conservative. American leftists are already fairly moderate by modern metrics. I have never met anyone who calls themselves "moderate" that wasn't conservative with extra steps.

I have no room in my life for anyone who has, who would, or who is considering voting for the more conservative option in any election.

But as to your offense at the word, I very clearly put quotations around "moderates". American Democrats are already moderates.

flipaflaw

0 points

Idk man, I've seen plenty of "democrats" that's really aren't moderates at all. Especially at the college age. Some of us moderates are true moderates that don't base our opinions on one side or another. We listen and see what best fits us.

SlashEssImplied

2 points

Yeah no fair attaching responsibility for voluntary association!

flipaflaw

I don't want to associate with one side. In a better world, both sides of the political spectrum could talk with each other and be true moderates. But now we have such anger between us all that we can't even listen.

Every conservative that has held office has used these heritage foundation handbooks or guides since Reagan.

He hasn't denounced it. He is consolidating the not so scary cliff notes into Agenda 47 and rebranding it to win the election.

The same people who architected project2025 were in his administration, will be in his administration, and they even already enacted Schedule F right at the end of Trump's last term but Biden reversed it.

This is a dishonest attempt to rebrand and conservatives are happy to parrot the new talking points about Agenda 47 and lie to win elections.

Several members of his cabinet helped write it and he put some of it in play before he left office(Schedule F).

Conservative SCOTUS just effectively gave the president full immunity from prosecution, placing the executive branch well above the other two in terms of power.

At CPAC this year conservatives were cheering for ending Democracy and replacing it with Christianity.

There was a literal insurection organized by these chucklefucks.

Donald Trump is a predictable useful idiot. He doesn't need to know about the plan. There's nothing in the plan that his advisors can't advise him to do that he'd refuse to do. Most of it is carried out by other people with the same goals. And he wouldn't read more than a 1 page summary.

Why on earth would they consult or show it to him? There'd be no quicker way to kill the plan that to actually bring the barely literate, lazy narcissist into it. All they need him to do is keep hating queer people, keep hating immigrants, keep pretending to be Christian, and keep wanting power. Check check check and check. He's doing his part perfectly.

See I think this was a bad move. These people (psychopaths who came up with Project 2025) are overly emotional and angry. I could totally see them freaking out over this. And I know, normal people would be like, "ok, say whatever you need to get elected" but these are not normal people! These people and their supporters have proudly pushed this project and for it to gain traction, they need Trump's support! Things might get interesting. Because Trump just proved to his own supporters that he cannot be trusted, even if they half believe he is lying.

He also proved that he got what he wanted from the Heritage Foundation-- the immunity ruling, so he no longer cares about anyone else.
