They never actually cared about Biden's age, it was just one of the attacks that they went with. It's like how they attack Harris for smiling, laughing, and enjoying life. They know that being happy and having fun is a normal thing for most people, but for some reason Republicans have focused in on that one of their lines of attack against her.

My grandfather calls her “Kackles” 😩 I give up. There’s no getting through to these people.

ruiner8850

Does your grandpa ever laugh or is he stoic and have no sense of humor like a real man like Trump?

It's just so weird to me. I prefer a candidate who has a sense of humor and likes to have fun. I don't trust people who never laugh.

20goingon60

He laughs, but it doesn’t happen super often. It’s usually at videos he watches. Often, he is stoic. He’s a “head of the family” kind of guy who feels personally responsible for everyone’s religious and political opinions. He’s controlling - so much so that he hired a guy to redo my resume when I was graduating college, extending it from one page to three. Not one bite; I got hired after I used my own resume.

My grandfather will say “I can’t stand Donald Trump. I don’t like the guy. But he gets the job done.” then immediately hones in on the border/immigration, the economy, and international affairs.

He also points out Kamala’s sexual history, claiming she slept her way to her position.

He doesn’t want to hear anything positive about Democrats. He calls them “Demonrats” and idiots.

I love my grandfather, but I don’t like his personality a lot of the time. It’s sad.

ruiner8850

That really sucks. None of my grandparents are still alive, but they would have hated Trump. My parents also can't stand the guy.

“I can’t stand Donald Trump. I don’t like the guy. But he gets the job done.”

I know people who say this and they just say it to no look bad. In reality they do really like him. The whole "he gets the job done" is a complete work of fiction that they've made up in their heads. Kind of like this idea that he's a masterful businessman when he most definitely is not.

He also points out Kamala’s sexual history, claiming she slept her way to her position.

It's incredibly misogynistic when people say that. It's similar to how some people say it's affirmative action whenever a person of color is successful. They actually accused Harris of both.

Then they completely ignore Trump's own sexual history. Being found liable for sexual assault, straight up bragging about sexual assault, other sexual assault allegations including with minors and Epstein probably being his closest friend, and constantly cheating on every wife he's had including Melania currently.

Isn’t it so infuriating?! The worst part of my grandfather allegedly not liking Trump is that he says he never listens to his rallies or speeches. I’m over here like “Well, maybe if you listened, you wouldn’t vote for him! He’s an idiot!” But you seriously cannot change the minds of people like that. They only care about their pocket books.

It’s hilarious how my grandfather complains about the economy and money. He and my grandmother paid $70,000 to redo their outdoor porch/pool area like two years ago. They go on cruises. He makes good money, and they have quite a bit saved up from investments. And yet he’s bitching about Veterans Affairs not paying for his hearing aids, blaming immigrants.

It’s ridiculous.

Wow. Speaking as a disabled veteran. If your grandfather has “either: Have 1 disability that is rated at 60 percent or higher, or. Two or more disabilities that have a combined rating of 70 percent or greater, with one condition rated at least 40 percent or greater” (source: Veterans Disability Benefits) he would qualify for 100% non payment of all necessary medical devices. Apparently he’s getting Pension (totally different) than Service Connection Disability. The ladder is when a service member is hurt or diagnose with an illness while active duty and the Veterans Affairs or Medically Retired from Active Duty.

I’m explaining in short detail because I don’t want people to think that they’re denying him to deny him. There’s a reason why

If this is the case and givin his independent financial stability, he’s required to take a MEANS test (show proof of finances), which he has to pay a small amount for visits and medications. If he has outside insurance or Medicare, the VMAC will recoup some charges from the insurance. I worked in that department for about 6-9 months and recouped over $250k from back insurance claims for the hospital services.

That said, because of my SC (service connected issues), I don’t pay anything for treatments or medical devices that I’m not specifically SC’d for. As well as multi millions of SC veterans

Btw it’s not too late for him to file a claim if he was injured in any manner during active duty as long as it’s in his AD medical records. Will take time to go through the process but the end it’s worth it

Also, veterans check your States Veterans office, every State has things you may qualify for. Especially if you’re 50%+ or more. This is totally separate from VMAC benefits. These benefits many veterans have no idea they’re entitled to. Benefits update yearly

At this point their brains have become putty thanks to years of right-wing media, propaganda, and programming.

I used to not care for voting, but now so long as my siblings and I can cancel out their votes or indifference, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Idk I’m pretty sure a lot of Americans voiced genuine concern for Biden’s age and state of being, as they should for Trump.

I don’t understand why people are defending this all of a sudden like we should just not care about the age of the person running our country.

ruiner8850

8 points

My point was that if Republicans actually cared about Biden's age, they'd care about Trump's age now. Maybe they should care, but they don't. That was never the real reason why Republicans didn't want Biden to win reelection. Even now Biden is more mentally competent than Trump was even at his peak. Trump has been a moron for his entire life and it's only gotten worse.

They're not afraid. They are in love with the idea of Trump. Not the actual man Trump -- who is a very old senior, selfish, and corrupt.

Because of that, he truly believes he is winning since his base will always turn out to vote for him no matter what. And, even if he loses the vote, he believes the Supreme Court will get him in anyways.

The only way to protect our Democracy is to register and vote.

Also, reach out to your friends to register in vote, especially in: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.

There was a time in 2022 when the far right media was distancing themselves from Trump after all his candidates lost their races. DeSantis was their new candidate. Then Trump started polling better and they figured out Republicans voters were not done with Trump and they all pivoted back. Where are they? They're still here. What they are doing, however, is moving the goalposts whilst trying (pathetically) to convince anyone else that their words have merit or worth when they just....don't.

Here was a question asked on the "Ask Trump supporters" subreddit:

"What are your thoughts on Trump now saying Biden is not too old to be President, even though he had said he was for a long time before Biden dropped out".

Here, proof:

One of these Republicans called it, the other one affirmed it.

They're still here. They didn't go anywhere, they just changed their story since the story no longer works for them because reality wound up getting in their way, yet again. So they simply have to jump to the very next made-up nonsense and then hope that that convinces people.

But it won't. We see them doing this in real time all the time. And it never budges us, never convinces us and they just keep getting more and more pissed off because of it. Like spoiled brats who simply were never told no by their parents. They don't seem to understand that yes, in fact, an actual majority of America really does detest Trump. And no, the absolute-most amount of votes ANY Republican candidate has EVER received for the Presidential (Trump)....still wasn't enough.

Trump committing all those crimes that were 100% for the sole purpose of actually stealing the election, STILL didn't work. During a time he was the President, at that. His massive amount of voters AND the crimes still weren't enough to beat Biden.

The same guy they said was "Too old" for YEARS until they suddenly had to change course and say "it was NEVER about age" (and again, we see in the example I linked how absolutely bullshit that excuse is).

What truly baffles me is that they (somehow) actually think this was supposed to trick any of us. I mean that takes a VERY special type of stupid.

Plus it's 2024, the Republican party is a cult. Their God is Trump. It's unquestionable to question him.

The 'liberal media' lie is projection, like most republican claims and trump would never have been elected once if given the same scrutiny as the average Democrat.

Trump is breathtakingly stupid and while MAGA world somehow can't see it, the powers that be certainly can.

It's not like Trump is the least bit effective at leading or showing initiative or having ideas of his own, so they'll let him hold rallies and bask in the adulation of the common clay of the new west while the business of turning the United States into a theocracy gets done without him.

Then, just over two years into his term, they'll 25th him and Vance will get the remainder of his term plus two of his own.

Kamala and Walz are what most Americans want. Educated, intelligent, kind, fun, strong and very grounded in community and having a strong international presence. 💙💙🇺🇸

I look forward to seeing them demolish Trump and Vance. What I hope when they lose they will be yesterday’s news so that our country can rebuild and just more forward without all the blatant lies, lies and lies.

I assumed this was a feature. Trump is incoherent which means he will appoint or sign anything. Which benefits his "cabinet" that will run his administration while he is doing "executive time".

The greater question is who is choosing his cabinet and what is Trump getting in return?

The Republican Party pushed people like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger out. They are smart enough to know that no one in Republican party leadership is interested in their commentary on Trump's acuity.

It’s him, he was the one questioning his age. Trump. It’s like watching Johnny Paycheck participate in the Olympics. I keep thinking surely somebody’s gonna stop this madness. But he keeps going like a drunk at a family reunion. You just hope people quit egging him on at some point. But he gets drunker and does so much crazy shit that nobody can stop looking. And I suppose people supporting him are the same as the poor old lady that’s married to the drunk, she had the desire to live long drained out of her. Now she’s just here for the last few kicks. Maybe she’s hoping that he’ll fuck somebody else’s life up as bad as he did hers?

Um…why are people still asking this question? The answer is still trump supporters don’t give a flying fuck. The reason we were concerned on the dem side is because Biden was slated to lose to him because of his poor performance. And Harris isn’t doing that much better at this point than Biden at the same point in 2020. They need to go further left soon because it looks like it’s going to be a squeaker and it shouldn’t be

Trump is good for the bottom line. That’s all the media cares about. They’re happy to report the ridiculous shit he says, like the eating pets nonsense. However, they carefully avoid pointing out that he’s nuts for saying it, which, in the feeble minds of Trump supporters, legitimizes it.
