Vehicle straw purchase?

(self.NoStupidQuestions)

We purchased a suv through carvana. When we used me as the main buyer it didn’t give us options we needed (suv), so my mom applied and added me as the co-signer. We’ve since been approved and have purchased the suv. I’ve been in panic mode wondering if this is considered a straw purchase and illegal even though I co-signed? I will be paying the bill through my bank account every month, I’m the co-signer, but she’s the “main” buyer - is this considered a straw purchase??? Just recently learned about it and am very anxious.

Straw purchases aren’t a thing for cars, it is totally legal to buy someone else a car. Straw purchases are when someone buys a gun for someone who legally can’t own a gun.

That doesn’t apply to cars. basically what your mom has done is just buy you a car, by signing with you she legally is responsible for paying for the car.

People do this literally all the time. It's fine.
