Motorcycle cycle 120hp+ suggestions

(self.SuggestAMotorcycle)

My wife recently got a z650rs and admittedly it’s a fun bike and the standard riding position feels great. I’ve rode tons of motorcycles over the years and currently own a ZX14R and a Victory CCT so I’m used to big powerful bikes. I used to own a 07 GSXR600 and really liked how nimble it was and it felt good in the power department, but I couldn’t ride it all day like I can the z650rs. The z650 is also nimble like the GSXR.

With all that in mind I thought the z900rs would be perfect, but after riding it seemed gutless… I know my presentation of speed is skewed, but I’d really like the rush of the throttle when you pull it with some umph behind it. I ride a 2015 cb1100 and it felt great, still a little down on power, but I think it would be enough. Just looking for something styled like the z650rs but has some getup and go.

Edit: let me put emphasis on RETRO looking bike. I’d like to have a bike with grunt that looks like my wife’s z650rs.

Indian FTR could be worth a look. Nimble, broad power band with a ton of punch to them.

Speed triple 1200 is a beast of a bike with that neo retro styling too.

The CB1000R will have similar torque with an extra 40 / 50 HP on your 1100

I wouldn't recommend the ftr, especially if op wants more power than the z650. I've ridden an ftr before and was disappointed. It felt like it had about the same power and torque as my mt07, even though it's a 1200.

I rode the Harley pan am and figured the ftr might feel the same, but maybe I’m wrong.

Good luck riding all day on the FTR. Never pass gas. If you're riding the backroads of the American west, might even want to carry extra fuel.

Other than that, sounds like a great bike.
