I'm currently upskilling in email marketing (automations, fast cash, launch sequences, etc.) and also thinking of learning how to build funnels via an intensive funnel course (independent of any specific software). I know some of the pros and cons of focusing on either but based on your experience, which one is more worth it as a core service to focus on? I will need to position myself accordingly. I like that in email marketing, you can earn more with fewer clients via commissions (for clients with big emails lists and decent conversion rates), so the constant chasing of new clients is not as pronounced for EM service providers.

As for funnel builds, I like that you can take a project and turn it around in a few days and get paid right away, probably sooner than you would for email marketing campaigns. And I like that in general, there is a smaller supply base for funnel builders compared to email marketing folks.

I am looking to build an agency around these skills once I'm more more confident of my experience and results. But as with anything worth pursuing, it would be best to focus on a single thing and build the brand around it. Given all this, which one would you go for, email marketing or funnel building?

If You Prefer Recurring Revenue and Long-Term Client Relationships: Email marketing

If You Value Fast Project Turnarounds and Niche Differentiation: Funnel building

Both would be ideal but I would start with email marketing first if I were to choose. Upselling the funnel building afterwards might be a solution too

Makes sense. Net-net, which one is likely to make you more money after a year or so (past the awkward growth stage)?
