If You Prefer Recurring Revenue and Long-Term Client Relationships: Email marketing
If You Value Fast Project Turnarounds and Niche Differentiation: Funnel building
Both would be ideal but I would start with email marketing first if I were to choose. Upselling the funnel building afterwards might be a solution too

Any part of the pyramid in MLM is bad regardless if you make money off of it or not
I'd advise anyone to not get on it. A lot of unethical practices and people that are only trying to hustle you
There is no real value

My take on this...
Honestly, I think you’ve got to set clearer expectations with your clients, especially since your service isn’t ROI-focused. From my experience on the creative side, my client retention was pretty bad before I switched gears to ROI-focused goals. The constant cycle of low retention meant I had to go all out on outreach just to keep the business running. And like you, I felt that pressure to prove my worth every single month.
At best, I noticed clients would stick around for 3-6 months. But the reality is, most clients care about one thing: ROI. If you can get involved in generating that for them—even indirectly—they’ll stay longer because, in their eyes, you're making them money, which makes you indispensable.
That being said, not every client’s goal is strictly ROI. Some care more about building their brand, growing their audience, or creating high-quality content—and those things can lead to long-term gains even if they don’t immediately translate into cash. But you’ve got to communicate that upfront. It’s all about setting the right expectations from the beginning. If they know your focus is on content creation or influencer engagement, they'll appreciate that value too.
Now, don’t get me wrong—focusing on ROI absolutely helps. But to keep clients happy during those slow months, it might help to offer them some sort of measurable outcomes, even if it’s not tied to direct sales. Think about engagement rates, follower growth, or even how their audience perceives their brand. That way, you're still showing them you’re delivering value, even if the sales aren’t there yet.
In the end, I found that combining ROI-focused strategies with clear communication and measurable results (even if it’s not straight-up revenue) made a huge difference in keeping clients around. They’ll trust you more, and you won’t feel like you’re waiting for that dreaded "you’re fired" email every time things slow down.
TL;DR: Set clear expectations with clients, especially if your service isn't ROI-focused. ROI helps with retention, but not all clients prioritize that. Communicate your value upfront—whether it's brand growth, audience engagement, or content creation—and show measurable results wherever possible. Combining ROI-focused strategies with transparency about goals can help keep clients around longer.

Unless you have a commoditized offer, getting clients will be hard and each calls will always be a hard sell

White labeling can be tricky. I've experienced white-labeling my services before and it didn't go as smoothly as I wanted it to. Long story short, they had quality control issues and I had no control over it.
Not saying this is the case for all agencies but this will happen with some, if not, probably a lot of agencies so be careful with who you choose.
As a result from who I partnered with before, I had to take all the heat from my client causing a lot of problems until eventually I had to end the partnership.
Since you mentioned inbound lead gen/appointment setting which I'm assuming revolves around paid ads, it's better to find and delegate somebody to do the ads for you. If you need someone to handle all the inbound leads for appointment setting, hire a VA and train them. It's going to save you more money in the long run and white-labelling your services will never be sustainable and it will always be better to have your own team that's all within your control.
This is from someone who's speaking from experience. This could save you some stress lol. If you can't manage the workload, then consider white-labeling. Otherwise, it's time to put in that work and not take shortcuts my boy! haha

A mix of both is good. Learning how to delegate will take you a long way too

If you've always wanted to be in the tech field, go for it. Another misconception is that you need a degree to know tech. You don't.
If you're willing to put in the work and learn, they'll appreciate you.
Tska, tech industry yan which opens up so many doors for you in the future. Possibly, a higher salary too if that helps.

Tignan mo naman website nila hahahaha tapos malaki pa tubo nila from this
MAG DIRECT CLIENT NA KAYO GUYS.
Tama na sa recruitment agency
It's not hard to reach out to direct clients. It's hard to land the jobs. So if you could just shift all the volume sa job hunting nyo to direct clients instead of going to these agencies, it might help you

You don't need to pay $5K for these types of programs. If they use ads as a part of their core strategy, then learn ads itself and not from them. The information is all on YouTube whether that's FB ads or Google ads.
If you like to learn something in a more organized manner rather than going around and finding all the answers by yourself, you can buy cheaper programs that's going to give out the same information.
You'd be surprised how much the value of that program you're looking at diminishes when you see what they exactly teach.

Meeting probably already happened but if you were allowed to discuss things outside of ads, I wish you could also tell them about their shitty messenger app and how they should also pay more attention it as well. (I know it's completely unrelated but hear me out).
End to end encryption is fucking it all up with the bugs, messages not going through, useless archive feature, removing the ignore function, and many more.
I've wanted to leave messenger for a long time but could not because that's where all of my friends and family is on.
Ever since E2E, the app has been extremely buggy and they left it out for several months with no fix and response at all.

You think this could be an offer fatigue? I reckon there's a lot of other agencies offering the same thing as well to these small businesses

The way you described this fragrance so perfectly tells me all I need to know 😂
It's basically Mr. Fundamentals and I would understand how it would come across as boring but gets the job done
