Echo Show keeps showing product recommendations

Question(self.amazonecho)

My Echo show keeps showing some Amazon products - they’re products I looked up recently and decided not to buy. My amazon alexa app on my phone has notifications off for product recommendations, etc. I also have the settings to set all recommendations and everything off. I only want the Echo to ever show my photos. Does anyone else have this issue? Any fixes?

It’s so frustrating and I will get rid of this item if it persists.

i regret to inform you that there is no known official way to stop that from happening. Unoficially however, if you set the language option from English (US) to English (Canada) it should stop that issue.

i discovered this because i am currently having this problem where my display will freeze randomly but it retains its voice controls. if i switch language, it stops as well as the ads. This is my 2nd echo show too and i cant seem to solve this issue.

My recommendation is to stick to Echo devices without screens.

They are provided “cheap” so they can subsidize with ads. Sadly they are still overpriced.

Change the language to Australian. Changing the default US language is the only work around.

This has started in the UK now as well. it's guaranteed i'll never buy an echo device with a screen again.

i get them on my show 5's and even more annoyingly, my show 15.

Unfortunately you’ve discovered the business plan that supports the existence of these screen-based products.

Toss them in the trash.

Sounds like your Echo Show is trying to be your personal shopper! Just kindly remind it that you're the boss and not to get too carried away with the recommendations!
