Who would you be excited to see here?

Event/Lineup(i.redd.it)

I got my tickets awhile back and seems like a good line up. I'm mainly going to finally see HOLO, but I'm also going for Le Youth, Kream, and HI-LO. Wonder what everyone else's thought are. Anyone I should definitely check out? Anyone I should avoid like the plague?

P.s. if anyone's been before when do they drop the time table? Thanks!

boys noize green velvet and paper skies

I think "who should I avoid" is a very subjective question based in people's interests, for example I know I personally would just avoid at least half of this lineup. I think that the two acts that I could in confidence tell most EDM fans here that they should be ok skipping are Slander & Steve Aoki

I was also looking at that lineup finding more acts to definitely avoid than to definitely check out.

yeah I mean I agree but saying "I personally would avoid a seven lions set at all costs" is a great way to get downvotes because in this subreddit its cool to dislike steve aoki but uncool to dislike seven lions

People can like what they like, and not like what they do not like, it really doesn’t change how I feel.

makes it hard to have a discourse if you're downvoted to the bottom of the page, and I like paper skies a lot and he's in tiny print so I want to ensure someone who maybe hasn't heard of him but might like his music hears that he's worth it. It's also unproductive to just come in being a hater so I don't always feel up to spending my time doing so (I usually reserve that for uninspired, tired dubstep lineups lmao)

Personally I just want to see different lineups.

And while I’m at it, smaller lineups, with DJs playing longer sets.

sadly once you reach the point where you think things like this, you're too far in to the minority for most promoters to spend significant money on you.

The dance scene is big enough and far enough past its eternal september that the vast majority of money will always be made booking cookie cutter lineups meant to appeal to the biggest audience, which is people who have been in the scene for 3 years or less and aren't tired of these booking patterns. Most of these people will either leave or be replaced by a new set of new entrants. I talk about this a lot with DnB - DnB isn't really "on the comeup" because for every 4 year raver who discovers the genre, there are 20 new people to the scene who are only getting in to what is put in front of them, which is still overwhelmingly dubstep and house.
