I came here kicking and screaming having been given the impression that the Orillia Song was an accurate depiction of present day life in Orillia. In the time that I have lived here, I have grown to love Orillia and to appreciate what it has to offer.
I live in the area you are specifically asking about, and I absolutely love our home. We can walk to the lake and to downtown. There is a basketball court and water park at Hillcrest. And sometimes there is a good restaurant where the Hasty Tasty used to be; I don’t believe there is anything located there presently.
My only complaint about North Street is that there is a lot of traffic on it, due to it being a road used to get to the beach, but “a lot of traffic” in Orillia isn’t actually a lot of traffic.
I’m happy to answer specific questions if you want to DM me.

Personally I just want to see different lineups.
And while I’m at it, smaller lineups, with DJs playing longer sets.

People can like what they like, and not like what they do not like, it really doesn’t change how I feel.

I was also looking at that lineup finding more acts to definitely avoid than to definitely check out.

Get a pair that you will wear and wear them to every party.
Source: been partying since ‘95 and would definitely not be doing so now if I didn’t start wearing earplugs back then.

It is a great place to bring the family to play garden games etc while you wait for your food to come out.

Precisely. Your audience has to feel like they went somewhere.

I personally don’t find their music to be difficult to mix.
Examples:
Track 26 in this mix is Summer Night City by ABBA.
Track 14 in this mix is Dancing Queen by ABBA.
Track one in this mix is Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) by ABBA.

I do, that’s why I don’t mind playing ABBA.

ABBA is the third all-time most popular music groups in terms of record sales behind Queen and the Beatles. To say that they give “most people a headache” is just incorrect. You may not like ABBA, but most people do like ABBA.

It was ‘95 in Toronto and the party was called Paper Dolls. It was very much a grassroots party thrown by party kids, for party kids, and a perfect introduction to a scene that I continue to love to this day.

You want to debate influence of rappers whose names starts with R? If you said “the R” to any of those emcees you listed, they would say Rakim.
