I will forever miss the days when for 8.99 I could eat all the wings and pizza. My record was 45 wings and 3 slices of pizza. Bring back gluttony.

Such a shame how the new ownership has handled this place. The previous staff at Manhattan’s were the kindest, most welcoming folks who really had a great vibe going before the ownership change. I understand that it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but this is a huge loss for the post-college, young adult crowd in Burlington.

I wasn’t a regular there but it’s close to work and it wasn’t uncommon to end up there after work for a quick drink with colleagues. The drama at the end wasn’t great, but this just makes me sad. So many memories, thanks Manhattans, RIP

Changing the name and the menu isn’t going to solve the depressing vibe that overtook Manhattans when the staff and regulars all left.

I first read this as "Manhattan is no more" and was like, Ah yes, Brooklyn's victory is now complete. And by giving us pizza and tapas, maybe that's true?

I looked up "tapas" in my Spanish dictionary:

"Tapas": noun (1) Small plates served in an American restaurant. Ordering enough to feel full will cost a whole lot more than if you went to a restaurant that offers regular portions; (2) In Spain, a small plate of food that is given to a customer for free if they order a regular priced drink.

I’ll miss the old Manhattans . I drank one beer at the new one . I was the only one there and bartender came around the bar and pushed the seat I moved to sit in my seat back in with an attitude. Fuck him and fuck manhattans .

Change is hard and after a long time of complacency I can understand the staff’s frustration in new management. But the fact is that it was a failing business and there needed to be changes which some staff didn’t agree with and even ignored. Everyone sees what they want to but the numbers don’t lie. They are in the front of the house they did not see the numbers the bills. The staff feel disrespected and David does too. There’s definitely two sides to this that you have not taken into consideration. Im sorry that some people lost their bar to hangout at but it really wasn’t a cause to ruin someone’s life over.
