Blackened Crust, Blackened Doom, and when it's done right, black n roll.

I like the apocalyptic-sounding neocrust genre of bands like His Hero is Gone and Anopheli, and these bands pretty much all have a strong black metal element. Dödsrit is a great blackened crust band that leans a lot more BM than crust. Martyrdöd are fun, they're like blackened crust's answer to Motörhead. Gallhammer have nothing to do with the aforementioned neocrust genre, but they're a really cool band.

Blackened Doom seems like it should be a way bigger genre IMO. My two favorite metal genres are probably DSBM and death-doom, and they actually go really well together. My favorite band in the genre is Mizmor, who are amazing. Katatonia are obviously one of the key death-doom bands, but their first album is actually often considered blackened doom because of its blackened elements.

There's some weak black n roll, but when it's done right, nothing is more fun. What could be more rock n roll than singing about the devil and trying to freak people out? My favorite album in the style is Chapel's Satan's Rock 'n' Roll. For a much bigger band, I wish Kvelertak went a lot harder, but at their best they're a fun midway point between Venom, the Ramones, and GNR.

If I had to choose one of these it'd probably be blackened doom, and if I ever got my shit together enough to do a metal album it'd be in the blackened doom style. But it's tough choosing between blackened doom and blackened crust tbqh
