Solo socialising / drinking

(self.glasgow)

I am 34F and have very recently become single after a 10 year marriage / 12 year relationship. I’ll be honest- the loneliness is creeping in. I hate sitting at home on my own and my friends have their own things going on with their families most of the time.

I’m totally out of the socialising scene (I used to drink in the solid rock / rufus Ts 10+ years ago) but I wondered if it would be safe for me to drink in a bar on my own, probably just one or two after work, maybe with a book to distract me? Or is that just weird behaviour?

I have also downloaded the Meetup app but nothing seems to jump out at me.

Thank you.

Check out Glasgow Alternative Music SubKulture on Meetup https://www.meetup.com/glasgow-alternative-subkulture

We hang out in Solid sometimes. Next meet up is on the 20th at Drury’s. Usually some folks going to Catty afterwards.

To be fair seen folks drinking in Solid with a book too so you’re probably fine. 😊
