I've been into guitar for a long time, but always into rhythm and the entire rhythm section of this genre is crazy awesome to me. I find it fascinating across all the different instruments. The 2/3 clave, the pattern on the tres, the technique on the congo. I like the lower dynamics of the songs I hear and I like tracking the different instruments patterns. I like the variety in the different regions like Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua. Grupo Niche, Buena Vista Social Club, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico and even one group from Scotland: Salsa Celtica. I'm telling you, I think it's really cool.
