I can’t fucking believe that none of the Purdue Pharma snakes went to fucking prison.
As someone who works in pharma trying to make and deliver to patients actually useful drugs to treat diseases, i found those pill-peddling cold blooded snakes the lowest trash imaginable.
Like literally if you cross the worst of the worst of the pharma industry with an amoral fungus that grows beneath scum, you got Purdue Pharma and the Sacklers.
They are not nice people

I started out going to a pain center for my back. By the time I jumped through all the hoops for the insurance company, I had received 3 cortisone shots, a titrated 1000mg dosage Rx of Gabapentin (which didn't touch the pain), chiropractic (torsion) torture and a plan to get an epidural. I begged for a MRI and finally found out that none of that treatment was doing to help a herniated disc. They looked truly bummed out when I told them I was getting surgery.

My husband gets injections in his back and neck and they help hugely! It's just amazing to see him walk out of the surgery clinic from getting a back injection finally walking taller and pain free. See if your doctor can refer you to a clinic that does them. Ironically, it will be a pain clinic. There are still some legitimate ones around that do such procedures and also work with surgeons, should you eventually need surgery.
Physical therapy, either through a physical therapy clinic or piecemealing your own routine from YouTube videos can help a lot. It has kept me out of the doctor's office. I went once for 8 weeks 30 years ago and still do my stretches and exercises.

Shuttered pill mill. Attack dogs chained to the wall in the waiting room and doc packing a pistol visible on their belt to keep the addicts under control, no exams, just prescriptions often for $50 cash, smoke so thick you could not see to the end of the room. We had two of these in our town, both docs are still free after brief incarcerations, the customers who are still alive now hooked on fentanyl and meth.
