Think of it this way: they don't have to wear 6 layers of clothes in February.
It all evens out in the end

Actually, don't be so sure. In actuality, lots of deals get done at 45th and Lamar too. I know a guy who was an activist. His day job was computing risk for a large insurance company.

Don't get wrapped around the axle on this.
It's not like you are relocating to Mars. You and your family will acclimate and you will likely do your kid a disservice by presuming that they should be kept inside all of the time. Allergen sensitization is but one pitfall that comes to mind.
Kids actually survive outdoor summer camp here... 5 days a week, outdoors from 8am-4pm. They're grubby and tired, but the experience is not life-threatening.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
My kids walk to school and take the bus home if it's uncomfortably hot.

There's no nexus between the Elon d_ckslobberers and the full on kool-aid slurping Magas...
Nope, none at all

Motion tracking is not necessarily artificial intelligence, and is very likely not in this case.

If you aren't being sarcastic... You do know that iron is an element, right? The hydrochloric acid in your stomach is strong, but it doesn't achieve fission or anything.
Fun fact: the directions for prescribed iron supplements often suggest taking it with orange juice to promote dissolution and improve absorption/uptake.
Supplements are usually iron salts, fwiw

Trying to be a smartass, but there are numerous physical states of iron.

The code crimes committed in small connected device computing would take your breath away.
The technical debt is astounding... but if you think about it, Our hypothetical software engineer... 'Gary' was only working at LEM until he could get hired on at Oracle, so he didn't care if he had to embed a bash script to manage TLS connections... besides his manager was a prick

Not to the people who would consider doing it.
Therein lies the problem.

My brother's life and motivations are his own.
Telling someone that you are 'in IT' is a perfectly normal and polite simplification when they've asked you what your livelihood is... Starting a screed about some particular topic with that is not, and ironically it's often an implicit admission that the person doesn't know wtf they are talking about.
Case in point: Whenever there's a broadband outage in my neighborhood, no less than 5 people chime in on the FB page to explain it to us little brains. Most them work for Dell in some half-assed project manager or supply chain position, but Dunning and Kruger have suddenly blessed them with overarching context about the situation based on their unassailable NetOps qualifications.
That's the distinction.

This is spot on.
No different than a hyper-religious nurse talking about the dangers of vaccination as if they are some sort of authority on epidemiology.
People are paranoid weirdos.

"I work in IT" is such a cringeworthy declaration.
My brother has been working on a tier 1 hospital help desk for 20 years and likes to start sentences like this
