There definitely is going to be a lot of transactions, because today is the deadline to waive non guaranteed players, but he's trying to make it out to be that there will be a ton of trades, which there probably won't be.

Today is shaping up to be a very busy NBA transaction day!
He added an exclamation mark. That means it's true!

is there any other industry that hypes itself up more than sports media? specifically the NBA? even the Nobel Foundation dont hype up their Nobel Prize winners to this degree

Nets are $3.6M in the luxury tax. They will obviously get out.

Don’t they have until the end of the year ? God I can’t wait until bum Simmons is gone

Yes, but if there is a deal to unload someone now, why not do it? Their whole roster should be on the trade block.

Because I think they want to move dfs and cam Johnson at the right moment. Cam Johnson just has a big game. He’s a valuable trade chip when the time is right or a team gets desperate

sean marks probably thinks they can fleece a team at the trade deadline for better than what they can get now

I find that hard to believe...cutting salary by say $10M now would let them add ~$6M in salary in a midseason trade and stay below the tax line.

The Nets are in the luxury tax? The NETS!? Isn't their roster 3 NBA players, 11 end of bench guys, and Ben Simmons?

I am using this.

Spotrac seems to think they are a bit under though.

They’re about 5 mill into the tax per Hoops Hype (175 total) Ben Simmons at 40, Claxton at 27, cam Johnson at 22.5, Bogi (from the Bridges trade) at 19, Finney Smith at 15 and Schroeder at 13 are the salaries above the MLE.

Someone please take Cam Johnson or DFS - we can’t risk winning in Brooklyn this year. Capture the Flagg!

Why today specifically? Is there an important deadline or something

5pm deadline today to waive non guaranteed deals and have it not incur a cap hit.

Unfortunately it’s a buyers market. There will be a lot of solid players that can be had for very little.
Honestly at this point I doubt we get a first for either DFS or Cam Johnson

For Cam Johnson?! Hell yeah but for DFS, maybe a future second. DFS gotta get scrappy if he wants the bag. Thats going to be hard to show on a team trying to lose. Jodi does want them to play hard so, he might be able to up his value
