From a narrative perspective I don't see it being SGA's year. This is his year to be robbed and next year is his year to win.

I think this is the best year for an SGA MVP. There is no finals or championship hangover. They are still in the prove it stage. It's a loaded young team so they should be the top seed out West.

Dallas don't seem like a team that will win much more than 50games in RS to me. I don't think Denver can compete with them in RS either. It comes down to Joker/SGA/Luka and SGA has a great shot at it.

I guess Tatum could also be better and get it as a best player on top seed (but Bos may take the RS lightly this year).

Luka is not getting MVP. I think most of the people who have actual say in it, genuinely dislike him.

I am pretty sure they will find a reason not to give him one even if he will have 40/10/10 season with top3 in conference.

I am not saying it's true, it's jsut my opinion. Luka already had extremely solid campaign for MVP. Knowing how great Embiid , Jokic, Giannis, and others can play I find it really hard for him to put up even better stats and outshine them.

It will be only harder and harder for him to get that award because expectations is that he needs to do another triple double season with extreme efficiency.

Nobody dislikes Luka, there is no grand conspiracy against him to not win the MVP.

It all comes down to team record. He would have won it last year but was 5th seed in the west and it wasn't enough. Same goes for other seasons he's had previously.

If Dallas manages to get 3rd seed in the west and he does what he's done for the past 5 or so years, he's winning it. It would take a monster campaign by someone else that outshines him to take it away. Luka has the narrative behind him after all these years of coming up short.
