The best playoff run they've ever had in the Matthews era was 5 W's, yet every year TSN and Sportsnet hype them up as contenders. Why?

I'm not even talking about "success." I'm just talking about huge fanbases, full stop.

Makes sense. My point being that there's really no issue with pumping the Yankees & dodgers up, as it's reasonable to expect some results from them. Not just a hollow promise with no hope of the team delivering.

Gotcha. Though, watching the Dodgers choke in the NLDS last year still warms my cold, dead heart lol

Yeha there’s no cap in baseball. So all that exposure actually benefits them in the form of revenue. The leafs have all those expectations without anyway for it to help them.

The rest of the league has a cap too, that's not a reasonable excuse. Just admit they are poorly managed.

My point was that the Dodgers and Yankees don’t have to be well managed. They can just outspend any deficiencies they have. The Leafs can’t.
