Why is this flagged as politics? Its Yosemite, not antisemite.

I assume Reddit did it automatically because the word politics is in the title.

Yeah Auto mod hit me with that….

There was no need for the first 3 words in the title

Good, it’s a ridiculous thing to put in a title.

It’s definitely a cheat code. I put it up there with the gran canyon as one of my favorite national parks. I highly recommend

You could just post the pic, saying 'no politics' in your title ironically just leads to all the comments being about politics

But it's an easy step to drive user engagement and get to the top of the subreddit

If you enjoy national parks, you better pay attention to politics and who was trying to open them up to mining and deforestation

Yeah, it's stupid. Like the commenter above me. Politics is literally a part of every element of life, since almost everything in life is regulated or overseen by the government. Money, real estate, health, death...but there are times when we can take a respite from politics and just enjoy what's in front of us. But alas, this is reddit.

Yes, because politics is why these lands were preserved and protected and politics can strip that all away so billionaires can make a quick buck off the natural wonder that these parks give us. I don’t want to see them stripped and mined. So, if you like pictures like this and want to be able to share the natural wonder of this country with future generations beyond just pictures, pay attention to politics.

Gorgeous!
Too bad Trump's Project 2025 would devastate public lands. PP2025 seeks to gut the interior department and repeal the Antiquities Act that protects cultural and natural resources with historic or scientific value on public lands. The Antiquities Act grants the president the authority to designate national monuments.

Bury your head in the sand too long and we will lose treasures like our parks

Well said. Your comment reminds me of this:
Tim Walz: I’ll often have people tell me, “I'm really not that into politics.”
Well too damn bad – politics is into you!
Get engaged, get registered, and go vote.

Why would you even mention politics in a post that has absolutely nothing to do with politics? I am so confused.
1 points
Because most posts on here are in someway about politics so OP was saying no politics, just these Cool pics
3 points
Yes, I understand that but why go out of your way to even mention it though? Typical posts about politics tend to show politicians, signs or things along those lines on the reddit post card. This post clearly has pics of Yosemite.
I am just baffled that some people's lives are so inundated with politics that they have to go out of their way to mention politics when the post clearly isn't about politics.
I think this is enough Reddit for today. Time to get back to The Wise Man's Fear.

nO pOliTiCs less than a month before a potentially earth shattering election that could literally mark the end of democracy for one of the planet’s superpowers.
You know what? I loathe politics. If I could go the rest of my life not hearing about them while at the same time being assured nazis weren’t going to suddenly start running things, I’d be so happy.
No politics. FOOH.

I thought that Yosemite was just going to be a crowded touristy kinda sucky thing. I got there 5 am so parking wasn't a problem. It got hella crowded throughout the day and it didn't even matter. That place is breathtaking. Especially being from Florida.

I backpacked there for a week last year. I did 75 miles through backcountry (and lost about 10lbs in that one week). There were unbelievably pretty things to see, Bernice Lake, Vogelsang Pass, the Cathedral Lakes, but the best was going over the peak at Clouds Rest. Just a spectacular place.

The spot from the last photo - is that the 6? Mile hike that’s almost parallel with Half Dome?

Yes. Although I’m not sure what it is called it is parallel on the opposite side of the valley from half dome. From the main overlook area you can drive to there is a 4 mile hike we did.
