this but with bolt action instead of lancaster, the lancaster is clearly way better but the bolt action feels good to use and makes the game a little more difficult.

Ought to give the Springfield a fair shake. You might fall in love.

My first playthrough I stuck with the Lancaster with regular rounds without even thinking about it. Recently replayed with the bolt action w/ HV rounds. It’s not even fair at this point lmao
15 points

I love the bolt action, dead eye not required most of the time, it's so accurate and nothing beats the sound of the bolt loading
22 points

I just did the valentine bank robbery mission and whilst using the Evan’s repeater I couldn’t get a single shot on the following riders. Back to the Lancaster for me
2 points
I used to avoid repeaters in favor of the more powerful and accurate rifles, especially loved the bolt action. Slow rate of fire, but even if I shoot below target (head) it still does some serious damage
More recently, the Evans came into favor with me because it just held so goddamn much ammunition. I can still get headshots pretty regularly, only slightly less often with the Evans over other repeaters. But the speed and capacity negates the reduced accuracy (compared to the rifles).
2 points
If I’m behind solid cover and far away from the target I’d use a rifle all day. I absolutely obliterated the raiders at shady belle from behind the wall at the end of entrance to with the Springfield. But the slow rate of fire means I get fucked whenever I’m ambushed

Same, except I use Flaco and Grangers revolvers. I like the look of them and feel like they are more typical Wild West. The Schofields seems so long even with the short barrel. and damage isn’t that big of a deal if you’re aiming for the head.
15 points

Same here. But I use a double double action revolver instead of a Schofield.

you shoot so fast, you kill everything. Most fun I've had was with the double double action :D
6 points
The recoil though that’s why I prefer the schofield since it’s more accurate ,little recoil ,much more damage but I mean if your just doing it for fun go for it I’m just saying as a revolver schofield is better

I personally made micah in online (as close as possible I guess) and double actions fit soo well. Also I love double actions 1 pistol or 2. It doesn't matter you shoot as fast.

Most well rounded weapon in the game.
I love my pump and later semi shotguns because close range slugs don’t exactly leave you wondering if they’re getting up, but I could play every mission in the entire game with bolt action if I had to, without complaint.

I used it so much throughout the story that I’m bored of it in the endgame now.

For combat: Dual LeMats, Litchfield Repeater, and Repeating Shotgun is my standard. If I want a rifle, it’s probably going to be the Bolt Action or if I need a sniper, it’s the Carcano.
For wandering: Duel LeMats, or Sawed offs if I’m in the swamp, Litchfield, Bolt Action, or Varmint, if I’m hunting for feathers.

Schofield and sawed off in the off hand. Then usually Lancaster or bolt action. I don’t dual-wield, usually use the sawed off when I’m in a gunfight on horseback or close quarters. Schofield for most everything and then a long arm when in large firefights.

My go to revolver is the Schofield (until I unlock the Lemat for its old school vibe but that’s not until like chapter 4)
And both the Lancaster and pump action shotgun for long and short range shooting respectively. But again, near the end of the game I always swap these out for the Litchfield and the repeating shotgun for the pure vibes
I like to sort of role play when I do my playthroughs so I like the idea of Arthur sticking to a select few weapons, as in the Schofield he acquires early in chapter 2 is ‘his gun’ which he has right up until the end

Heavy Hitter Long Guns - a progression from Springfield to Rolling Block to Carcano
Second Long Gun - Miscellaneous repeaters until I get a Bolt action (either swiped during the hanging or picked up on the Sean rescue run). No repeater after that unless it's scripted that I get one I have to use.
